It was considered popular within this hawker centre, the crowd was always there for “Shui Kueh”. Packing speed was splendid, ladyboss was capable to handle loads of customers. Stall was small yet kept in hygiene manner. Finally was my turn, I was buying four of them. From what I expected, I want something more harden. Sadly, the rice cake was too watery and soggy for me. However, chilli was great while the mashed preserved radish was salty and full of fragrance. No matter how many you bought, the price per piece was fair which expensed at $0.25. continue reading

In terms of taste, the chee kueh here is really quite good because the kueh itself is very soft and does not taste too artifical. The chai poh seems to be a mixture of two different ingredients as I could taste two distinct flavours. The chai poh topping is quite greasy though, so that is the negative point. In addition, the service is also quite bad. The lady was pulling a long face and was quite stingy, she refused to give me another fork because she said $1 worth of chee kueh is only entitled to one fork. continue reading

nice soft chwee kueh here. the chilli is not too hot. the preserved vegetable topping is quite tasty. not too salty but a bit oily. the oil makes the chwee kuehs not stick together. the chwee kueh is not floury and is nicely cooked. not reheating here as it's all hot and ready. recommended. service is alright. the preserved vegetable topping is not as good as some other places, but it's good enough. survived the takeaway process very well and it was still hot when we came home. continue reading

Looking for something light for the night, we decided to try this stall of Chwee Kueh. The steamed rice cakes are served steaming hot, light in taste and non-greasy. The Chai Poh (preserved radish toppings) though a bit more salty to our liking, blends pretty well with the steamed cake. However, we would have preferred the chai poh to be more chunkier. The chilli are hot and spicy, but not fragrant enough to complement the whole dish. At a price of 8 pieces for only $2.00, plus the stall gives generous serving of chai poh, it is a really value-for-money meal. continue reading
