It wasn't as salty as the other spam fries I had tried, I enjoyed this alot, and even asked for additional mayonaise to dip this already calorie-heavy side dish!

3. Fried Chicken $29.90 for 16 pieces

The salted egg was delicious, but I felt that it could be a bit stronger! The chicken was crisp and plum, would have enjoyed it abit more, if the the salted egg sauce didn't feel so greasy. But nonethtless the top pick if you only have a chance to choose one flavour.

We also tried the other two flavours Yangnyeom which was okay, but it had peanuts on it, and it was also slightly spicy. The Ganjang chicken was sweet, a bit too sweet for my liking, reminds me of the soy garlic 4 Finger chicken sauce.

This is the first Bingsu I have ever had, everyone just tells me that it is an overpriced ice kachang and it is! In the stringe, you find honey syrup which you spread over the shaved ice. It was nothing more than condensed milk on shaved ice, that hat frosted corn flakes, and what looks like red ruby with hardly any chestnut inside. It tasted more like a red colour pearl from a milk tea drink. But still, it was an interesting experience.

I would still come back here for more chicken and to try other bingsu. So if you're in the CBD area craving for bingsu, you can try Chick and Ken!

【Chick And Ken】
Owners behind Stateland & Honeycomb started another new wings joint opened at Lor Telok to follow the current Korean fried chicken trend.

Last Saturday, I went to try it out with my hubby. First impression already failed us because it's supposed to operate at 12noon but when we walk past the back alley at 12.10pm, chefs were smoking behind. When we stepped into the shop, the lady assistant told us that kitchen wasn't ready and ask us to come back 20-30mins later
So we went to have ramen first. Our tummies were almost 80% full before we complete of actual mission of trying out the wings.
At Chick and Ken, the deco is the same as Stateland cafe. We only ordered 4 whole wings, 2 flavours of Salted egg + Yangnyeom, & a drink. No space for other dishes.

From many social media channels, I saw most people like their salted egg wings more. But for me, No WOW factor because my hubby makes better Salted Egg sauce than this 😁
Without the coated sauce, the wings are just bland wings. If only they were marinated...
Compared to the Salted Egg wings, I prefer the red ones, Yangnyeom wings
But I prefer them to be more spicy, if possible.
Love the crunchiness of the peanuts & the nuts fragrance aftertaste that stays in my mouth
Probably I won't visit again for their wings, unless jio by friends. But I may come try their bingsu when I'm around this vicinity or if I'm super free

2 Flavours Fried Chicken ($15.90)

I chose the 8 pieces version, which gives you the option to choose 2 flavours from the 3 choices (YangNyeom, Ganjang and Salted Egg). The 16 pieces version however, gives you the option to choose 4 flavours - but I wonder what's the 4th flavour gonna be when there's only 3 flavours available.

That aside, we went with the Ganjang and Salted Egg flavour. It was well divided in terms of chicken parts. For each flavour, they gave us 2 wings and 2 drumlets. I felt that the chicken portions were a little too small. Actually, so did my friend.

Anyway, I was looking forward to trying the salted egg chicken as I wondered how it would have tasted. Sinful, I'm sure! I was expecting a deep flavour of the salted egg coated chicken, but unfortunately, it was a little blander than expected.

Its flavours were not that rich, I'm guessing it's because of the addition of evaporated milk which somehow decreased the salted egg flavour. The chilli and curry leaves were a good addition for an additional oomph.

I was more surprised by the Ganjang Chicken - simply soy sauce, garlic and mirin.

I loved the overall taste for this and its flavours had captivated me more, without being overwhelming on the saltiness aspect. This is one flavour I would recommend if you visit.

Overall, the chicken meat was tender, but I felt that it had lacked the crunchiness that I usually experience with Korean fried chickens.

Artisanal Classic Injeolmi Bingsu ($12.90)

I do give this dish a thumbs-up for its presentation.

I feel that rice cakes taste nicer when they are softer. Unfortunately, I didn't like that the textures of the rice cakes here, which were inconsistent. Some were hard, some were softer. Also, there was only a thin layer of the powder on the small rice cakes, and the flavour didn't really appear.

The red beans were really nice though. I think there should be more condensed milk given. Maybe a larger syringe would do the trick nicely. Lol.

Overall, I did like this dish because the sweetness was well balanced (red bean paste, honeyed cornflakes were lovely) and the crunch level was addictive (crushed sliced almond flakes and cornflakes). The ice was very fine, and really very well done. The only gripe for me was the lack of taste of the peanut powder, which should be the signature taste for all Injeolmi-branded foods.

Also, I did kind of like the fried chicken here, and when I come back, I will still order the Ganjang Fried Chicken flavour.
