Signature Dishes
After my family was done with grocery shopping at NTUC finest, we saw Crystal Jade Bakery having a promotion for their bread! I guess it was already quite late and they were trying to clear them. We decided to get some buns for breakfast the next day! Their signature bun is the Bo Luo Char Siew Bun which is crispy and sweet on the outside and filled with char siew on the inside. As I had it the next day, the crust was not as crispy anymore and crumbles very easily as I hold it. Still, I like that they do not scrimp on the amount of filling ;)

Bought these 2 snacks from this bakery shop in tampines this afternoon. Shop was quite small bit the choices of food here is still decently alright.the egg rolls at $3.40 per pack, is full of egg fragrant and not too sweet. Is very crunchy and appetizing. As for the chicken pie at $1.50 each, is quite filling but not too tasty. The pastry crust is too thick and not flavourful. The chicken meat is too little and quite tasteless too. Staffs here are friendly and shop is clean.

Crystal Jade My Bread has a good selection of much healthier bread.I bought a packet of carrot bread which is the most popular and saleable bread as advised by the cashier.The carrot bread slices are moist and tasty. The healthier version of a carrot cake with less calories in a quick bread.Price at S$1.80 for four slices.For tea I had a slice of carrot bread sandwich with a piece of otak. Yummy.

Crystal jade bakery is not like your normal bakery in terms of their offerings. This bakery served pretty unique pastries including many different types of bolo buns. The best bun in my opinion is the char siew bolo bun. The char siew filling has the right mix of fat and lean mix so that it stays juicy without being overwhelming. The bun itself is light and fluffy with a delicious sweet crust adorning the whole thing. The flavour contrast works really well!

I used to picked up my takeaway orders from Changi Airport T3 branch as there is easy parking. Since they closed down the My Bread and do not allow us to collect from other Crystal Jade Restaurant at the Airport, I ended having to go to Century Square.The Turkey was marinated with chopped herbs and spices. Surprisingly the meat was tender and was tasty. I used the leftover for salad and another time for fried rice.The curry puff was made with puff pastry and the inside was filled with diced chicken which was not very spicy. It is the mini version of the normal curry puff. Suitable for those not used to spicy curry puff. This puff pastry cup was filled with mashed potato and a sliced of smoked Salmon. A couple of this puff pastry will filled the stomach, This is best eaten on the day itself.This drumlette is actually 1/2 a mid wing. and has a batter coating with lemongrass flavor. I heat it up in the oven so that it is crispy. The takeaway item was warm when I picked the items up as they are kept it in the warmer except for the salmon which is chilled.The takeaway items are priced reasonably and can be items added to party so that you can save time to preparing so many dishes.
