I have always wanted to try the paus at D'Bun but their shop located along an alley at Katong was pretty inconvenient. As I heard them opening a second branch at Chinatown Point, I made a detour from town to takeaway the paus for breakfast the next day! I was so excited to try the Yuan Yang pau as the thought of the combination of tau sar, lotus paste and salted egg yolk is enough to make me salivate. I bought all the paus in their 'cold' form so that I can refrigerate overnight and steamed them the next day! The taste is a right balance of sweet and savoury and definitely my favourite pau out of all! The char siew siew yoke pau is a bigger version of the roast pork version and it is essentially the same filling of charsiew and roast pork with the additional of roasted pork belly. This Chan bun was originally not in my list to buy but I saw it as a recommended item on their facebook page and so I decided to try it as well. The texture of the bun is soft and fluffy and the filling is also generously filled with charsiew! Although the paus here are more expensive than others, their fillings are all so generous and definitely a worthy treat once in a while continue reading
