First Love Patisserie serves Hokkaido Thousand Layer Cakes, much like our Kueh Lapis or like the Mille Crepe. I was confused but when I took a bite, I realised why. This is because the cake has a similar consistency and texture to ice cream. In fact it tastes a little like ice cream cake. It is a bit difficult to slice through with a fork too. Presentation-wise, it came in a plastic box which wasn’t very impressive and it was such a small slice. The strawberry taste is quite strong and the layers are mixed with the original flavoured ones so it is not too overwhelming. The strawberry jam lathered on top adds to the fruit flavour too.

Overall I had say trying this dessert once is enough.
