I had tried many famous hot pots in Singapore, yet this was my first time to order dried version. Spotted an interesting stall, I decided to eat challenging food. Stall was well-maintained and in hygiene manner, staffs were cheerful and friendly. Be prepared for the level of spiciness, it will numb your tongue. Not really suitable for those who cannot take spicy food, the plate was insane. Apart of spiciness, the ingredients were mixed up perfectly. Flavourful meat with crunchy nuts on top, it was not overly salty. Tenderness and juiciness gave a wonderful feeling to every bite of food. Satisfied to the max, the portion was filling with a huge bowl of plain rice and soup of the day. Something unique and new for me and I would definitely recommend my friend around for a try, at least once. continue reading

Basically, the stall's concept is pretty simple. One just need to pick those ingredients you like from the fridge, the staff will weigh it and charged you accordingly, then the chef will whipped out a dry dish called Fragrant Hot Pot (麻辣香锅) with the ingredients you picked and their MaLa sauce. The staffs are quite friendly and helpful, I even get to pick how Hot and Spicy I want my dish to be. Being Singaporeans, with Chilli, Curry and Laksa already part and parcel of our daily diet, we straight away went for Super Spicy. But the bowl turned out to be abit expensive, at $14 plus.. continue reading

I frequent the Food Junction food court at Bugis Junction as I'm working in the vicinity. Hence, when my friend and I came across this new stall with 2 big fridge outside, we can't help but give it a try. Basically, the stall's concept is pretty simple. Being Singaporeans, with Chilli, Curry and Laksa already part and parcel of our daily diet, we straight away went for Super Spicy. Wrong Move!!! The dish is filled with dried chilli and it's so spicy that we ended up with swollen lips. Though we had a hard time digesting our food, we have to admit that the aroma of the dish is really quite fragrant and its actually quite delicious. The meal cost us around $16 plus, which means around $8 per person. Not very expensive considering that this is a food court. I am tempted to give this dish another try, but next time I will probably just go for the medium spicy. The Super Spicy one is definitely not for the Faint-Hear ted!!! continue reading
