Had the most disappointing meal experience at Grandma's Changi City Point. Made a reservation, but was told that still need to queue. Seriously, why make people to reserve and then queue up with the rest of the people who does not have any reservations?Ordered the $34.90 Assam fish Head and top up another $4 for additional vegetables, but was stunned when it arrived. The portion was so small! It was meant to be shared, but I think I can easily finish the whole portion by myself. Out of the 4 adults sharing that dish, I only had a small portion of fish (less than 3 fingers combine). And to add to the insult, the ADDTIONAL vegetables was so little it can be counted by 2 hands. Crazy prices and I was not impressed by the taste at all. I had better and cheaper elsewhere. The rest of the dishes were small in portions as well. Think they are meant for 2 to share at max. The spinach tofu was nothing spectacular. And seriously $11 for a plate of normal Nasi Lemak is daylight robbery.I spent around $110, and left still feeling hungry. It's not that I am not willing to order more, just that what's the point of ordering if all the portions are so pathetic? If I ordered similar food at Zi Char stores, the bill would probably be less than $60.It is not as if the service or the ambiance is good. Noisy place with very little customer service as they are probably under-staffed.Overall, average food quality, absent customer service, lousy(& illogical) reservation system, extremely small portions and exceptionally high prices make me ban this place. My first visit would definitely by my last. You have been warned. Avoid, avoid, avoid...My bet is if they don't improve on their service and value for money, I would not be surprised to see this establishment close down soon. Such a letdown. continue reading

Taste: Serving is quite a bit more than a normal nasi lemak. Taste is good but nothing special. The chips given will be charged, you can refuse it if you don't want them.Environment: Spacious environment.Service: Average services provided by the mostly pinoy staff.Clean: No problems with cleanliness.Price: Price is similar to other restaurants, but most people would not pay $10 for a nasi lemak. continue reading

Ordered the following dishes. Nasi Bukhari (basmathi rice with fried chicken leg, love the hot fresh from frying chicken meat) $14.90, one stir fried dou miao $9.90 (for this price, its a letdown, taste is too bland), one honey chic $9.90 (not too bad, quantity was ok also), one otak otak $7.90 (impressive, i can even literally see fish meat mixed with otak filling, nice) and one hokkien noodles $10.90 (nice thick noodles, sedap) . 10% serv charge and 7% gst is applicable. Total bill works out to be $62.95. ice water is FOC. One think i want to highlight is from where i was sitting, i could easily see the staff sleeping at the other coner on the chairs, some of the staff was also working and eating at the same time, not the best sight to show customer, perhaps they could install a veil or curtain so that this is shielded from the diners.also initially they waitress gave us a small table. then the manager (Indian lady) offered to join another table for us, nice gesture and initiative from her, continue reading

We ordered the Chicken Rice and Cream of Mushroom Soup. The business is pretty good and crowded. The service staff are fast and efficient, and responsive to our requests as well. Great job! However, I'm not too impressed with the chicken rice maybe because I've had better and cheaper elsewhere. So my standards have been set high. I guess it's got that home-made taste. The chicken was average but acceptable. The presentation overall of the dish is quite pretty so I give them that credit. The cream soup was alright too. Changi City Point has a few factory outlet shops and it's very spacious. There's not a lot of crowding here so shopping or window-shopping will be a pleasant experience. continue reading

I tried their chicken rice set for $15.50 for first time. The rice was quite hard but got taste of pandan and ginger. The chicken was a lot. The skin of the chicken was yellowish color like those kampung chicken. The chicken meat was quite tender for the chicken leg part. The chilli was quite spicy for me. The ginger paste was nice too. Overall not bad but i still like their nasi lemak set better. continue reading
