Located at Pioneer Food Village on Tuas West Avenue, the over 18-years old non air-conditioned eatery serves Chinese and seafood cuisine.

Isolated in the Western corner of Singapore, surrounded by industries factory, it is not accessible for most of us unless you are working in this area or living in Jurong, Boon Lay and Chinese Garden. Having said that, Singaporean can drive all the way to Johor Bahru for the cze char (煮炒 - “cook and fry”), I am sure you wouldn't mind coming to the other end of our island for their FRESH and REASONABLE price seafood too!

Chockful of prawns, mushroom, fish maw and bean sprouts in a thick stock that has a smooth consistency, not the watery kind yet not overly starchy/gluey.

This dish is famous for its crystal kway teow, and we were especially excited to try the latter as we had not tasted this in Singapore before. Also known as "fen pi" or "bean flour sheets", made from green bean flour, they look translucent kway teow but have a firmer texture than the rice-flour variety. Wok fried with a savoury combination of succulent seafood and XO sauce.

Hassle free to peel the shells as they are deshelled! Crispy prawns glazed with sweet & sour sauce.

Kung Pao Shell-less Prawns @ $24, $30, $40
Lightly battered prawns sauteed with roasted cashew nuts and dried chillies in kung pao sauce. Personally I would have preferred them more spicy. ;p

Braised to tenderness, bones removed and with a tempting layer of fat pairs well with flat steamed buns. Place a slice of pineapple together with the braised pork in between the bun and pour some sauce over, guarantee to bring a huge grin to your face!

The fresh fish is absolutely delicious, all of us rave about it! The sauce is not spicy, flavorful yet not too strong that overtake the freshness of the fish. If you do like steam fish with sweet, sour and maybe a little spicy flavour, I bet you will love this dish to bits.

Stir-fried Dou Miao $12, $18, $24

This are not the regular ones that look similar to mung bean sprouts, which are full of stem, crunchy but hard to chew. This dou miao has more leaves and is known for its delicate taste. Not everyone knows how to appreciate this chewy veggie, but I likes the unique taste of its own.

Their duo maio (snow pea sprouts/shoots) are imported from Taiwan and is not available everyday.

The fresh black pepper crabs were tantalizing to the taste buds. The sauce has lovely peppery taste to match that sweet succulent crab meat.

- My Opinion
I had a satisfying meal! All the seafood are fresh and nicely cooked that the meat are not stick to the shells.

The fresh quality and good taste makes travelling the extra mile worthwhile. Definitely have to try their specialties Special Braised Pork Ribs, XO Sauce Seafood Crystal Kway Teow and Steam Pomfret with Noya Sauce. But be careful, one missed turn into Tuas from the Ayer Rajah Expressway, you would have ended up at the Second Link's Immigration checkpoint.
