There is a foodcourt stall in Clementi Mall that always has a steady stream of queue. This Hokkien Mee stall not only sells hokkien mee, but also char kway teow, carrot cake and oyster omelette.There were two version of carrot cake, white or black. I ordered the white carrot cake. The wait for the carrot cake to be ready was quite long, more than 15 minutes, because the chef cooked each type of menu by batches at a time. The piping hot carrot cake texture was slightly crispy on the surface and soft inside. There was a lot of egg taste in the carrot cake. I felt that the carrot cake was lacking the saltiness taste of preserved vegetables.Overall, the carrot cake tasted average, I would still prefer the carrot cake at Toa Payoh Hawker Centre.

I didn't feel like eating so I just ordered whatever I saw. I happened to notice the Hokkien Mee stall, so I asked my dad to get me a plate. The price of it was $4+. I regretted buying that as it didn't taste as good as what I expected. It was too salty and tasteless. I couldn't finish and had to give the rest to my dad. I think that it should be less salty as it makes me lose my appetite. I don't think I would order that again.

I am always a Hokkien mee fans, and I reckon this Hokkien Mee tastes pretty alright. However, one set back is the texture. The noodles are a little bit under cooked, causing the texture to be slightly hard. Perhaps it was a busy day that the cook didn't have time to simmer the noodles for long enough.

The fried beef hor fun was not satisfying for me so I proceded to hunt for something else. In the end I settled for the ding feng’s carrot cake. They have been fairly well known for their hokkien mee, carrot cakes and char kway teow. I ordered the smallest serving which is the $3.50 portion. It turned out the portion was a lot comparable to my miserable beef hor fun. The carrot cake really lived up to its reputation. Indeed it taste really delicious. the carrot cake bits were not too tiny. Just the right size. Very delicious.

i love the carrot cake at this stall. They only specialise in selling, char kway teow, carrot cake, hokkien mee and oyster omelet. they have three huge woks, one for the hokkien mee, one for the char kway teow and black carrot cake and the last wok is the white carrot cake and oyster omelet. Their carrot cake got three sizes small, medium and large. I ordered the black medium carrot cake. The carrot cake is so chewy, the black sauce amount is just right and they add a lot of egg. Really yummy!
