Mini Soboro Don ($3.50)
It is plain rice, topped with minced meat sauce. Kinda of similar to the taiwanese Lu Rou Fan 滷肉飯. The minced meat braised in a slighlty sweet dark sauce. Simple but nice.

Overall the rice dishes seems to fare better. I could hear that the kitchen soon telling customers that they have ran out of rice.

Located towards the bus terminal in serangoon Is this small don and bento shop run by Edo sushi. Though their sushi may not look the freshest, they are priced very reasonably! For just $2.50 I got a crunchy bowl of tobiko (prawn roe) with egg, cucumber, seaweed and sushi rice! It was very tasty and delicious! It looked more like sushi that had been kept for too long and then they just tossed it into a bowl, covered it with mayo and tobiko but nonetheless a cheap and satifying lunch for me!Lots o

Lots of their food items are to go as they only have a tiny dining area.

The Katsu don was served with eggy goodness drenched all over it. Definitely not stingy with the amount, every single mouthful of rice comes coated with the egg. Definitely a recommended item!

The Katsu curry don was drenched in curry which is obviously pre-mixed but I don't really mind it that much. Thick chunks of chicken chop  was fried till crispy. You can add on $3 to get an additional set consisting of chawamushi, hot green tea and 2 salmon sushi.

$6.80 for a bowl of Pork Katsu don and $8.80 for a bowl of curry don, MEN MEN DON DON is aiming to provide above average Japanese at reasonable prices. I definitely see this as a good stopover for those who would like to grab a quick meal which doesn't stinged on the quality of food.

Hope you will enjoy dining at Men Men Don Don as much as I did!

It has been many weeks since I last had bento from Men Men Don Don. Today I decided to try their Curry Katsu don. I bought the regular Katsu don for hubby. They have changed their takeaway packaging. Now the rice is packed separately from the meat and gravy...great Curry Katsu don (pork) $8.80This is not bad, gravy was creamy and not watery, but there wasn't any carrots or potato cubes, just some onions in the gravy. Pork chop was good, not too hard.Katsu don (pork) $6.80This is good, pork chop

I'm at Nex Serangoon again to hunt for dinner. After walking one round at the basement, I decided to try the Don meals at Men Men Don Don. Teriyaki chicken don $6.80It was freshly prepared upon ordered. The container feels hot when they handed it over to me. The teriyaki chicken was well marinated and tasted pretty good. It was served with seaweed strips, half a hard boil egg and some lettuce...nice.

Whenever I want a quick meal at NEX, i will like to come here. Being a noodle lover, the udon is a great choice for me. The curry gravy may not be very consistent for every visit but taste wise, it's still ok. Udon texture is usually quite nice too. It comes with pieces of fried chicken which i quite enjoy together with the curry gravy. And it's a must for me to put chili powder for the extra spice! Very shiok indeed.

Went there with friend for lunch. I ordered Teriyaki Chicken Don, it was not bad. When the food was served, it was piping hot and tempting. The portion was enough for me and the chicken was quite tender and juicy. I found the teriyaki sauce was too sweet for my liking. I really like the seawed and really make the teriyaki chicken don more fragrant. Overall, the food was average.

My friend once told me that the redder the salmon sashimi, the more fresh it is. As you can see in the picture, the salmon sushis i had from men men don don was pretty fresh! The slices were also of adequate thickness (not too thin) which i like. The salmon sushis were fresh and smooth. Perfect for a quick snack!

As I was craving for some japanese food & I was alone, I decided to settle for something for casual & Men Men Don Don seems like a suitable option.

Ordered Salmon Ikura Don. Bad choice I guess. Though I like the fact that the amount of salmon & ikura given was really generous, I won't say the same for the freshness. Halfway through eating, I have already gotten sick of the taste. An obvious hint that the ingredients were not fresh enough. Needless to say, I did not manage to finish my food.

However, I guess I might return to try other items on the menu as I like the availability of such fuss free japanese dining places.
