"Salted Caramel", what comes to your mind when these words come to mind? ICE CREAM! Since opening its doors in 2011, Salted Caramel Artisan Ice Cream has been drawing quite a crowd to their unpretentious parlor located along Upper Thomson Road. Why? Simply because of the large array of flavours and affordable pricing!
Single scoop ($3.6), Double ($6.4) and Triple ($9.2), pretty good deal isn't it? Each scoop was a little small, but not complaining either!
We all had one waffle ($4) each. I had Stout & Chocolate with Salted Caramel, Sha (@bodybuildingsingapore) had Salted Caramel while Yong Sheng (@decatan_sg) had Vanilla with Cookies & Cream.
Similar waffle pricing as Fatcat Cafe, but standard was two worlds apart. Well, it wasn't that bad, but simply not defined as "Good" in my dictionary.
Similarly, Ice Cream was a 6/10 if I were to grade them.
Overall, it was fun timing hanging out with the lads with the company of sweet treats! If Ice Cream isn't satisfying, you can pop by next door for some Prata and TehTarik at The Roti Prata House!

Ordered for 2 scoops of ice-cream on top of a waffle dizzled with maple syrup. Got the green tea and their signature sea-salt caramel icecream! Both icecream was good as the greentea has the authentic taste of matcha and the sweetness of caramel is mild. The waffle is served warm and light crispy on the surface so the combination of good quality icecream and the fluffiness of waffle is yummy! And we took small cups of water that is self-service at the back of the cafe area.

Salted Caramel is a quite well-known ice cream parlour in Singapore. Its one and only outlet in Upper Thomson is not too wide, but clean, warm and homey. As I entered the shop, the fragrant aroma of waffle burst out. Mmmpphh! They offer many varieties of ice cream flavors, such as Nutella, earl grey, cookies & cream, and even Baileys. Beside ice cream, other selections like waffle and coffee are also available. Oh ya, feel free to ask the staffs there for the sample of ice cream flavors, to help

Homemade Waffle with Horlick Tim Tam Ice Cream (single scoop) - $6.80. To break down, waffle is $3.50 while a single scoop of ice cream costs $3.30. You can choose between chocolate or maple syrup to pour over your waffle. I chose chocolate, as it might get overly sweet with maple. The waffle was served warm, it was fluffy inside. However, it was rather tasteless for my liking. The ice cream itself was close to perfection, if only it didn't melt so fast. It was a great pair between the malty Horlick and crunchy Tim Tam bits. Definitely, I would like to have it as my ice cream flavor once again.

Homemade Waffle with Matcha Ice Cream (single scoop) - $6.80. This was my friend's order. She loves maple syrup, thus she decided to pair it with her waffle. The matcha ice cream was decent, the sweetness was just right.

Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Salted Caramel. Great ice cream, wide selections of flavor, delicate waffle, and cozy atmosphere.

This was my very first try on Salted Caramel, and I'm impressed! Initially, I thought it would be weird to have a salty flavoured ice cream (hence I didn't try salted caramel flavoured ice cream until now) but I take back my words! This ice cream has a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. Definitely want this again!

My friend and I decided to try Salted Caramel for their ice cream as we have tried Udders before and we thought of trying something new. Besides ice cream, I was surprised that they have coffee as well. All scoops cost the same regardless of flavour and if you get two or three scoops, it is slightly cheaper. We ordered two scoops of ice cream at $5.60. We are free to sample the ice creams before buying and we eventually settled on the early grey ice cream and rum and raisin ice cream. The rum an

The rum and raisin is rather good though we both agreed that the rum and raisin over at Udders still wins our vote for a stronger alcohol taste. The early grey is rather light with a nice tea aftertaste which somehow makes it seem less sinful a treat. The ice creams are quite worth it as the scoop is rather large.

Ordered waffles with ice-cream for $9.10. The flavours I picked were chocolate and cookies and cream. The chocolate flavour was really rich and chocolate lovers will definitely love this as it was not sweet too. The taste of the cookies and cream was more skewed to the cream (vanilla) side and I find it average only. The texture of the ice-cream was very smooth but it melted at a faster-than-comfortable pace. The waffles were aromatic and were fluffy. Definitely worth a try!

We ordered the homemade waffle with horlicks tim tam and salted caramel. The price was rather affordable. It cost me and my friend $9.90 for that waffle meal which i think was quite worth it considering the service and environment of the store. But the bad thing was that it was hard to find the place as we took public transport there. There were many other interesting flavours too but we were too full to continue eating.

A nice place to have a well-deserved dessert after a hot day.

The most recent set-up that has come into the limelight is Salted Caramel. Its secluded locality is solely to be blamed for me to take so long to patronise this frozen dessert joint. Established at the Upper Thomson Road neighbourhood, it is asking too much of me to reach there. Unless well, for this instance, a car is involved.

We tried quite a handful of flavours, ranging from Nutella, to Stout and Chocolate, to Earl Grey Ice Cream. Of course, we had its, we supposed, signature flavour – Salted Caramel. I must say, I am a fan of how individual flavours taste. I can imagine one enjoying the ice cream with relish.

But, because we’ve all had so many different ice creams from different parlours, from Andersen’s to Haagen Dazs, from The Daily Scoop to Ice Cream Chef – it is easy to relate and compare which has a better taste. For me, Salted Caramel is on the losing end. Not only is their location not ideal, the ice cream isn’t too.

There are two parts to ice cream.
First – its flavour.
Second – how heavy and how long it lingers in your mouth.
Salted Caramel’s ice cream doesn’t have this density to them, making the taste of the ice cream easily forgettable. To know exactly what I mean, try a scoop of Andersen’s and a scoop of Salted Caramel’s.

Its price is reasonable though.
1 scoop – $3
2 scoops – $5
3 sccops – $7
Service is also on the no-complains side.

Would I go back again? Probably not, unless my dining partners want to try it. Moreover, Udders is just housed beside them.

This place is quaint and has a homey feeling to it, they offer waffles, coffee, tea & of course, their delectable selection of ice cream ^^ Around 10 flavours are available at any given time and the flavours rotate/new ones are churned out.. Earl gray, horlicks, you name it! You can always expect something fresh during your next visit.

We opted to share the double scoop cup ($5). Can I just say that this cup of ice cream is SUPER WORTH IT. Comparing to other ice cream places that probably charge the same price for a single scoop, at Salted Caramel you get to try 2 flavours for the price of 1. Fantastic!

The salted caramel here surprisingly isn't as good as I expected, though. I very much preferred the one I tried at Tom's Palette @ Show Towers (they have the best salted caramel ice cream iv tried!!!
). We decided to pair the stickysweet + savoury Salted Caramel flavour with a fruitier, alcohoholic rum & raisin flavour. I'm really picky with rum & raisin -Udders' is too strong and Marble Slab is too melty etc. My fav is at Anderson's, particularly for the texture of the ice cream. Comparing based on taste alone, this comes the closest to Anderson's rum & raisin. However, texture wise, it's less chewy/stringy.

Service is not too bad, the ice creams are definitely decent and the price is good too. Coming back for more!

Tip: salted caramel & rum raisin is a perfect pairing if you're going for the double scoop. salted caramel on its own isn't much to shout about, but when complemented with the right flavour, it really brings out the unique flavour of salted caramel.

As for caramel, I'm not a caramel fan either. So hmm, nothing fantastic about it! Although the claims of long queues and unique flavors are all true. It does not catered to my liking. Nonetheless, the price had been rather reasonable and no harm for a try isn't it.
