When I first visited Ann Siang Hill, I was overwhelmed to see all the fancy high-end tapas bars and interior impressive cafes all perched up the hill. At the moment in my life, I was exploring the place alone and the weather was exceptionally humid and warm. I needed somewhere to rest my aching feet and quench my thirst.Greeted by a cool blast of wind upon entering the cafe call Shots, I knew nothing what to expect from this place. Maybe a nice cup of iced tea followed by a cuppa of hot coffee? For all I care is just to take a rest and enjoy the air-con place!Being the only coffee house in the vicinity, I would say this is one cafe you must visit if you’re on your cafe-hopping spree. There is without a doubt I could see myself coming down regularly if I ever need a strong cup of coffee to enrich my conversations with friends over tea. But the thing about being a food blogger is you’re always on the lookout for the next cafe to try out.It was about a year since my first visit before I managed to drop by the place again. To my surprise, I find the former location of the cafe taken over by a bar. Now their current location, just a minute’s walk from the intersection of Ann Siang Hill and Club Street. It’s a totally new concept at the cafe now with artwork of various themes all neatly hanged along the walls. One could grab a nice cuppa and sit there for hours reading books and finishing your work or chitchat with friends what’s for dinner after tea. Irregardless of what you do within the four walls of the coffee house, you can be assured of the quality of Shot’s coffee to go with their gelato or cakes if you so fancy.Forget about that expensive and unworthy Antoinette. Just make your way down to Shots Cafe and politely request for a personalised latte art instead. I think it’ll be an understatement to just say this is just another cafe on Ann Siang Hill. Wouldn’t you agree? After all, this is the place where latte art meets real life art. continue reading

One day after dinner at Outram, as we were walking along the streets, using foursquare, we found out that there’s a Shots Café nearby and so we went there for some coffee and cake!We had Piccolo Latte ($4.80) and a Matcha Azuki Cake ($7.50)! The service was quite good, the barista gave us 2 glasses of water! But the coffee and cake were just pretty normal to me. The cake was a bit dry, not the moist type and we nearly couldn’t finish the cake because it’s quite a big slice and we just had dinner before that. The cafe was quite big and there weren't a lot of people in the cafe so it was quite a cosy ambience. continue reading

photos and more: http://andmorefood.wordpress.com/2013/06/08/shots-cafe-tanjong-pagar/Decent place to rest in the hipster part of Chinatown. I’m no coffee drinker, much less a connoisseur – so the judgment I pass on this place is it’s a good spot of air-conditioning on a sweltering afternoon.I got a hazelnut latte, settled down to the appetite magazines (gotta love their photos) strewn on the table, and let the afternoon melt away. One tall latte costs about $8+. continue reading

A cozy and quiet cafe, good to spend time together with your friend. Went there with my friend to chill out, we order drinks and some cakes to share among ourself. The drinks are good, not too sweet. The cakes are pretty, and most importantly they taste good too! It was not too sweet. The prices for all their items are resonable, not expensive. You might want to order and share with your friends. continue reading

A really cool place to hang out in Singapore is Shots @ An Siang Road. It offers a wide variety of drinks such as smoothies and coffees, AND very importantly a range of superb cakes (at least, so far all that i've tried surpass my expectations). My favourite drink was the Roseberry Smoothie, something different from other fruit smoothies as is it has a lighter flavour. My favourite cake was the tiramisu, i scrapped every little bit off the plate! As for the deco, its a really quaint shop, great for sitting back and enjoying your surroundings. Lots of art and photography hanging along the walls, so girls, its ideal for cam whoring sessions. continue reading
