Offering affordable and healthy Hong Kong’s traditional soup, I like to buy my meal here. The soups selling at Soup Guru was boiled constantly to ensure the essence of ingredients inside deeply absorbed to the soup. No MSG added and the Soup was refillable. Naturally delicious, the taste was so decent and straightforward. The sweet-savoury soup was most suitable for elderly, it was good for liver and lung which helps in nourishing organ. Added on 1 bowl of rice, I made it a complete set of meal. It costed me $6.20 for the whole. continue reading

On a warm and sunny day in the humid weather of Dingapore, the best way to cool yourself down is a piping hot pot of soup. It was previously named 'Soup Guru', now it has evolved to Soup King. Not many customers noticed this though. The soup had no MSG added, but it tasted really sweet.I don't know if the sweetness came from the winter melon or they added rock sugar, but the peanuts gave the soup a fragrant aroma. The store is located beside the escalator.Don't worry, there will be seats reserved for you so that you can find seats! The soup only costs $5.80. continue reading

chinese traditional soups. as i stood there looking at the menu, the staff barked at me, asking me what i wanted because they only have 3 soups on that day! all other soups were not available! how ridiculous. so i picked the pear and apple soup and yam rice. i have to say, the yam rice is very very good, if not one of the best sold in public places! there is real yam in there. the soup tasted good and was well balanced and not salty. however, there was hardly any meat or ribs or any ingredient in the soup at all! just all water! there are some chinese almonds floating on the top. tastes pretty good though. about $7! continue reading

My Pumpkin Rice ($1.50) that went with a bowl of Ginko Pork Tripe Pepper Soup ($5.50). The rice was really tasty by itself and I could have easily gobbled up 2 bowls. Traces of pumpkin and dried shrimps could be found in the rice. The soup was peppery and spicy! Perfect choice during a rainy day when you wanted to sweat it out. Those ingredients were definitely not my liking as I ordered it just for the peppery soup. They were too chewy and weird for me to handle! I tried dipping the ingredients into dark sauce and they tasted much better. Continuously dipping them made the dark sauce diluted as soup kept dripping in. I don't mind going back again to try out other soup variety. (A good news for soup lovers like me because the soup was refillable!) continue reading

Decided to get something healthy and soupy for lunch, and Soup Guru, located on the top floor of 313 Somerset, inside food Republic fitted my needs. I ordered a Pear and Apple Pork Ribs soup together with yam rice. The soup was very flavourful and contained generous portions of soft, sweet cooked pear and apple blocks. It also some tender pork ribs and lots of Chinese almond seeds. The fusion of ingredients definitely provides a highly satisfying and nourishing soup, especially good for dispelling heatiness. The yam rice was not bad too, it is cooked with lots of yam bits, so it is packed with yam flavour. Goes really well with the soup! continue reading
