Mrupupup had dinner at the The Courtyard, located at the Rendezvous Hotel, 9 Bras Basah Road, Dhoby Ghaut area, Singapore. The Courtyard is an outdoor eating place of the Rendezvous Hotel. The place was quiet when Mrupupup went there during a weekend evening. Mrupupup had dinner of their house fish & chips ($17.80) and their chicken in cream sauce ($14.80). The house fish & chips was nice and the fried fish fillet was wrapped in their Rendezvous Hotel newsletter which was quite environmentally friendly. The chicken in cream sauce was good and loved the mushrooms in a very creamy white sauce. Overall, the place was quiet and one can have good conversations over a decent meal. Yummysss!:chopstic:chopstick:k: http://mrupupup.blogspot.sg/2012/12/the-courtyard-rendezvous-hotel-for.html continue reading

It was a pouring rain afternoon that we decided to hide in this grogeous Courtyard located at the Rendezvous Hotel. We each ordered a English afternoon tea set ($32/ set), where it consists of a 3-tier afternoon tea snack, and a pot of tea of your choice. The middle tier of the set consists of sandwiches with various filling. There's egg mayo sandwich, ham and cheese and tomato, tuna etc. There are made from white bread as well as whole grain bread to give more variety to the customers. Next, the bottom tier is filled with two scones, a mushroom tart, and a puff. Mushroom tart is very well done, the tart has a rich buttery taste with good texture! The scones were served together with jam, cream and lemon spread, quite authentic compared to the one I had in London. Finally, the top tier is packed with sweets! There are three slices of cakes, plus two sweet tarts. I personally like the cheesecake the most. The afternoon tea set is quite filling, but don't worry, you can always ask to take away if you can't finish it there! The staffs are more than welcome to do that for ya. Awesome service. continue reading

We passed by here a few times and the deco and surroundings always make us think of brunch!SO finally one day we decided to go there when i wasnt too hungry(coz we were thinking it might be very ex) but to our surprise when we looked at the menu the prices were quite pocket friendly. Even cheaper than the hype of brunch cafes these days. Anyway first thing that caught us was the rejection at the entrance when the staff said it was fully booked but i swear less than half the place was filled! We had to tell her we are here only for a while and not staying for the buffet before she let us sit. Angmokia ordered a big breakfast and i ordered a coffee(around $10 with gst n tax). Breakfast was a nice portion but so-so. THere was some brunch or hi-tea buffet going on and we wanted to book for the next week but it was already full! Will definitely come back to try more food! continue reading
