Crazy day after work~

Walked around Cathay and was considering to go over to Plaza Singapura instead...
One of the workers of The Indulge was giving out some vouchers and we decided to go over and try it out instead

It was a superb place for a romantic date, the setting was just right and the food was great

We had a Great time~

I had a black pepper chicken chop and he had Salmon pasta~
Both turned out pretty good

Note though, the food portion might be insufficient for guys who have a larger appetite~
And the place is rather small and quiet, best for couples or small families

Tried the lunch set offer at THE INDULGE and was quite disappointed. The steak was quite hard and tasteless. Side dishes are also not that nice. Only the creamy mushroom soup was not too bad. ice-cream texture was abit too thin. Iced lemon tea was not at all sour. Not really a good deal for a weekday lunch. My verdict: 5.5/10

Frankly, the teriyaki grilled chicken was terrible. 1) It was served at room temperature. 2) The chicken skin seemed to be fried and soaked in oil. 3) The chicken meat was really fatty yet bland. 4) The teriyaki sauce didn't make any difference.

Service was not prompt either. Summing up, II wouldn't want to come back here again.

Love their fried prawns in wasabi mayonaise sauce. The mixture of mayo and wasabi is just nice, not too choking for a person who doesn't take spicy stuffs like me. It tasted somewhat sweet, juicy and fresh! Will go back for more. Their service is great too. Friendly staffs =)

For lunch, any main course comes with a glass of iced tea, soup of the day, 2 choices of sides and dessert. Quite a good deal! All of us had the tomato soup which was tangy and appetising. The signature pan-seared salmon with Kung Pao sauce ($17.90+) was decent enough. It’s actually just salmon drizzled with the Chinese Sichuan spicy sauce. Nothing bad, just nothing special~I was the only one who had fish; the friends chose different versions of chicken! I was the only one who had fish; the friends chose different versions of chicken! There’s black pepper chicken chop ($9.90+), chicken with mushroom sauce ($12.90+) and grilled chicken with BBQ sauce ($11.90+).

As you can see, portions are generous and it’s great value for money!

Dessert was a scoop of chocolate ice cream, probably from Wall’s or something.

Cafe Indulge is a ‘‘hidden gem” at The Cathy. This is my third visit and it seems that the standard had dropped a little. Cafe Induge is the brainchild of Kelvin Chua, currently a professional Food Consultant who designs specialty menus, and a Food Photography Stylist for local and international food manufacturers and their advertising purposes.

Cafe Indulge was previously known as ‘‘ The Indulge” and after a ‘make-over”, they changed their name and restaurant set-up.
They are offering a lunch promotion- Main course comes with *2 free sides, soup of the day , a drink and a scoop of ice-cream.
* Free sides : Coleslaw , roasted potatoes, french beans, grilled corn, mixed salad, xiao bai cai and potato salad . Individual side dish cost $1.50

The Menu
After the ‘make-over’, they had introduced a range of new dishes to the menu. The popular dishes- Whole Lobster Pasta, Crispy prawns & Red wine braised lamb shank are highly recommended.
My personal favourite would be the ‘Crispy Prawns’ which is basically 4 deep-fried ‘ang kah’ prawns topped with a special wasabi-mayo sauce & sunflower seeds to add a little crunch.

Side Salad
Salad leaves with mayonnaise and topped with some black sesame seeds.

Herb Infused balsamic chicken ($10.90+)
The grilled chicken arrived in less than 5 mins and it was not warm. I ordered an extra potato salad as a side dish & the grilled chicken laid on top of the potato salad. The grilled chicken is rather tasteless on its own but the sweet balsamic complement well with the chicken. The potato salad is a little bland and I was informed that they added a little wasabi & mayo but I could only taste mayonnaise and bits of onions.

Chocolate ice-cream
Only chocolate- flavoured ice-cream is available and I find the lunch promotion reasonable for its price. Cafe Indulge is an ideal place for lunch/ dinner where you can relax and enjoy your food without any disturbance ( cos its very quiet!)
