The fish n chips were deep fried to a satisfactory crisp, crispy on the outside but tender and moist beneath that crunchy layer. It comes with fresh mixture of salad, french fries and a lemon to add some zesty punch to the fish batter. While the first few bites of the fish were flavourful, the overwhelming amount of grease and oil soon resulted in a feeling of bloat and guilt. The salads were quite crunchy. The fries were decent, although it has to be said that they were surprisingly oil-free as compared to the fish fillet. continue reading

We have not tried the Manhattan Fish for a long time so we decided to go for dinner here after shopping. It was around 6pm when we went. There was no queue and there were still a few empty tables around. However, when we wanted to order food, everyone seems to be busy. Cutlery was not enough for the 3 adults. I have to request for them after the 3rd course is being served. We waited for chilli sauce.Halfway through our dinner, the queue for the restaurant got longer. As we were sitting beside the queue, we felt bad. As my hubby was eating his dessert, I requested for the bill. The bill came and I gave my credit card. However, the charge slip took a long time to come. And I had to request for a pen to sign the bill. Do not think I will come back again for the poor service. As for food, Fish is too salty. Fish is nice but fries is not hot. The oil from the fish actually made the fries soggy. This is the nicest among the 3 today. Fish is done nicely. Crispy and the sambal is not too spicy. continue reading

Went to collect the renew passport at ICA and of course heading somewhere nearby to have lunch and relax. Darling and I decided to go city square and while shopping we found a variety of food there and all having different promotion. However, we come to a decision to eat at manhattan fish market with this fan discount, student discount and 2 set special. We ordered the two set special since we have two person and think it more worth for us to try the new items indicated there. The service was nice too as they saw looking at the promotion, they came out to assist us and answer our enquiry such as recommending the food. The place was quiet in the afternoon and nice view to look out of the window for green scenery while waiting for the food, watching television, listing to background music. However, we prefer to sit on the sofa seat than on the chair and requested if we can change to the sofa seat which supposed to be for four people and they allow. Perhap it depend on the timing too. The drink was reusable but we never refuse as we are already full with soup and food. We have this fresh and cheese, savory sea-esta. The fresh and cheese is normally the western fish salad set but with the special cheesy fries and curry powder just make it the center of attraction for me and so I tempted to try it since I am cheese lover and still having sore throat , it just simply taste yummy and the fish is soft and tender. The savory sea-esta come in soup base with the seafood item such as oyster, scallop and some carrot , veggie items as well as the supplement bread. The soup is slightly salty to drink on to owns but with the bread is nice. The bread can consume on it own too as it is crispy but soft to chew. The seafood is fresh. Before we have our set meal, there were this soup which taste like tomato sauce soup with some milk look nice and good for appetizer since we already eaten some just now. However, me personally feel that they can add in pattern and design on the sauce with the milk just like the latte to make it even more special. The environment is nice to relax and special occasion. The service is nice as there make recommendation and answer enquiry well. The taste is nice especially the fish. Overall , it is clean as they clean up the table fast and efficient after we finish something, they will come take it away. But perhap just like they can ask before taking as I used a plate for the oyster outer but after IOC it try to take off, shall I put it on the table? The price is reasonable for the environment and reputation. The variety of set to choose is equally good deal depending on once preference, continue reading

Groupon voucher brought me back here with the voucher set offering the feesh and cheese set together with a tomato soup. Citysquare mall has always been a quiet place so the open concept restaurant is not crowded at all. First about the environment, seats are well spaced and there’s a LCD TV to entertain you with movie trailers. My only gripe is the trailers are repetitive and have little variation. The wall nearer to the kitchen side is also nicely decorated with wall fixtures but too bad its far away from the diners. Back to the food, I’m not really a big fan of f&c but I do find this set offered delighting, 2 fried battered fish, a little bit of lettuce in french dressing and fries with cheese. The tomato soup was a nice appetiser to start off with as well. I usually like to eat my main courses with condiments but they only had normal chilli sauce and garlic to offer, fish & co seems to have a little more variety. continue reading

it was the last day for me to use my $30 groupon voucher purchased for $15. Chose the CS outlet as its always less crowded. Me and my partner ordered the grilled platter instead of the usually popular fried one. For drinks we tried the colorful mocktails gummy bear and cala cala. Food was good, particularly like the grilled sotong and dory fish (i think). Loved my cala cala which is supposed to be lime based. My partner's drink tasted fizzily cool as well. i'm sure kids will like it. If i did not rem wrongly, the drinks are $4.90 each. Service-wise i think the staff were struggling, there were at least 7 servers but i only got my drink probably 15minutes later, 3minutes after my food is served. My setting of cutlery only came after the food as well. Only when i was footing the bill of $53 (i top up $23 only), i saw the std chart promo of 2 free drinks and soup. i query the waiteron the promo and guess what, they served me what i deserved. If only i had knew earlier, then we could have saved on the mocktails. Fortunately my stomach capacity still allows me to fill up the complimentary mushroom soup, which was quite a bowlful and another half a glass of coke continue reading
