As I super love to eat chilli crab but really lazy to eat the whole crab version, this chili crab dip from this restaurant certainly suits me. With really thick chili crab dip sauce, that is really fragrant and quite spicy. Generous amount of sliced crab meat are cooked in it, which are very fresh and sweet. The deep fried man tou is very crispy on the outer layer, which is fragrant and not too oily. The combination of these two items certainly has made this dish really popular here. The price is also reasonable at $12 per portion. continue reading

Dempsey is arguably one of our top destinations when it comes to some late night bites and drinks. Well, if you ever decide to hang out here any time of the week, why don’t you visit the latest addition to the restaurant and bar scene — Tigerlily?Located where Dempsey Brasserie used to be, the Asian tapas bar promises you a relaxing and enjoyable experience within its unique and cosy interior. As soon as you step inside this place, you will immediately be mesmerised with its unique décor. Hanging from the ceiling are 88 birdcage lights which remind you of HK director Wang Kai Wai’s movies (that is, if you're familiar with his works). These lights give a warm yellow glow to the bar and accentuate the oriental furnishings of this tapas bar.At Tigerlily, you can drink and be merry with the wide range of alcoholic beverages on its menu. Beer drinkers can cheers to draught beers such as Heineken or Guinness. There are also Asian bottled beers available which include Chang, Huda, Asahi, or Tsingtao. As for the food, they have quite a number of choices which are inspired from Asian cuisine. Interested to find out what they are? So it was a drinking night and we decided to chill at Tigerlily Bar again. This time round other than just our usual drinks (for me it's choya mojito definitely), we decide to order some food too. First thing that we saw - truffle fries and we decided to get that. A deeper look in to the menu... I saw this dish - Beef Cubes in Black pepper sauce and I decided to get that too. The truffle fries came first and it smells so good. A very thick flavored truffle smell soaking the fries and it tasted good too. Next was the beef cubes which is served in sizzling hot plate. I love this dish so much that I keep eating it continuously! The meat is cook to perfection, it is soft and melts in your mouth. The black pepper sauce however is a little too overpowering, so I would suggest just eat the beef cubes without any sauce. It tasted good just by itself! continue reading

For a place where it looks like it is more for drinking, there are some interesting items on the menu. We ordered the Singapore Chilli Crab Dip with Fried Man Tou. The chilli crab dip is good - it is slightly spicy and sweet and tastes just like the sauce we have for normal chilli crab. Only thing is there isn't much crab to be had. The man tou are normal deep dried buns. Pair with some cold beer and enjoy! continue reading
