Curry Fish Head ($20) - Spicy and savory, this curry fish head is delicious. For this price, half of the fish head is served with lots of side ingredients like long beans, lady finger, tau pok and egg plant. The fish head is fresh and the meat is firm and tender, together with the curry sauce, it taste good. Simply must order.

Salted Egg Sotong ($12) - I like salted egg dish, this is one of the best. The Sotong are fried crispy, making its texture chewy. Together with the salted egg sauce, this is a very evil dish to have, but who cares right? Just eat it!!

Thai Style Kangkong ($9) - Abit spicy, the kangkong are washed thoroughly, hence there are no sandy feeling while chewing. The kangkong are stir fry with preserved beans, hence its spicy and sourly, very appetizing

Braised beancurd ($15) - Fried Beancurd with savory sauce and lots of vegetables on the sides. The beancurd is lightly fried on the outside, you can taste the softness of the beancurd. Lots of sliced cabbage, mushroom and carrot.

Egg Fu Yong ($8) - This dish impressed me much as it is not oily and the interior of the egg is moist and soft. This really test the cook's skill and how he handle the amount of heat require to cook this egg. Lots of prawn bits are found in it.

Tel: 6779 1303

Opening Hour: Mon to Sun 1130 - 2130

Verdict: 4/5

Nice place to have dinner, i liked the curry fish head the most. The strong curry is really nice to eat together with white rice. In addition, the fish head is fresh at a low price. Other dishes fare good as well.

Long waiting list if you want to drop by to have your dinner, so just make reservation. They have calling system to inform you if your table is ready. So take your time to shop around the shopping mall.

Went to West Co'z Cafe for dinner on a Sunday weekend and the place was packed! We were put on the waiting list for around 30 minutes at 7pm and finally managed to get seats at 7.30pm. Service was quite efficient considering the amount of people dining there. We waited about 15 minutes for our food to arrive. We ordered Curry Fishhead ($15), cereal oat prawns (around $15), hot plate beancurd (~$10). The curry fishhead was moderately spicy and I loved the taste of it. Fish meat was soft and tende

Came here for a zi char lunch on a weekday. The food is your typical zi char fare but a plus point is the air conditioned environment. One dish that was pretty good was the stir fried kangkong. Not too spicy, this dish had good flavour and was very tasty, such that it went very well with the steamed rice. The kangkong was cooked just right, not too mushy nor raw in terms of texture. I had a good lunch today at this Halal restaurant at West Coast Plaza. We ordered the set meal for 6 for both tables. Food was pretty good and on average, each of us paid around $10. For the set meal, each category of food has a few items for us to choose from. Other than all the dishes that you see here, there was also prawns with oats, and the set also comes with selected drinks.Curry Fish Head - Shiok!Nice claypot chicken

Chye Poh Omelette $6 is just an ordinary dish that is placed on the table. Nothing fantastic to take about, just that you can see that some leafy greens are hiding under the egg. I cant find any chye poh inside the omelette. Taste like a normal fried egg.

Quite difficult to get staff to take our order as cafe is quite pack during lunch hours and especially during this period where everyone wants to "Lou He".

Ambience
The normal sight of this cafe for being packed during meal times. The restuarant extends out into the open areas of west coast plaza at the 2nd level and yet its always packed. There are times when you do not have seats, all you have to do is to leave your contact number and they will call you later when seats are freed up.

Price
Price is definitely ok, comparing to that we are actually dinning in an air conditioned area with those usual Coffee shop Zi Char Pricing.

Recommendation / Tips
For payment of bill, dont bother to get them walk over to your table. Just walk up to the cashier and pay there. Unless you have time to spare. If not, it will quite some times for them to come to you.

This is a Zi Char place located on the second floor of West Coast Plaza. Price is reasonable and food is good. The most expensive dish is the curry fish head that cost $15 (Reg $18). In addition, there was no service charge and GST. Oh! and free air condition too.To get here, alight at Clementi MRT station, take bus 189 from the bus stop at exit B. West Coast Market Square is only two bus stops away.

Went there twice in the last 2 weeks. My In-laws simply love that place.

Both times we had the Assam Fish Head which was served on a metal warmer instead of the claypot the Curry Fish Head was served in. Fresh fish with lots of flesh.

We had the set meal for 4-6 which fed 6 of us very well.

Would recommend that you choose the Claypot Golden Chicken for the Poultry option. Tender sweet chicken chunks in a little claypot. We had the Thai Basil Chicken once and that was rather disappointing. The amount of basil used was too much and greatly overpowered the dish.

Braised Beancurd was nothing much to shout about. If you choose Kangkong, they give a rather large portion.

Reservations must be made especially if you're dining in a large group. Even then, you may not get a seat. We witnessed a customer kicking up a fuss as he was not given a table even after making his reservation. Apparently, they decided to sit a family of 4 at his table for 10. Anyway when we left, he looked pretty happy tucking in to his Curry Fish Head at the other side of the restaurant.

Overall, a rather yummy air-conditioned Zi Char place. As I said, my In-laws love that place and had the same fish twice. Highly likely you'll return too.
