Windowsill Pies is a café that specializes in pies, not the savory but the sweet one. There are about 10 kinds of pies and I opted for 6 of them. Pies 1. Pies
1. Strawberry Lemon Slice (S$7) Bombed with sourness. It’s pretty much suitable for those of you who prefer to eat sour things instead of sweets.

2. Banana Slice (S$7) A little sweet compared to the previous one but not overly. The cream on the top was so smooth and light. Tasty!

3. Grasshopper Slice (S$7.50) The pie was filled with kicking flavor of mint. Only recommended for those of you who prefer a strong mint flavor. As for myself, I didn’t really enjoy it. For me, it tasted like toothpaste.

4. Funny Apple (S$7.50) A fruity treat, filled with a little sweetness. Fresh and Healthy!

5. Pineapple Passionfruit (S$8) Very rich in flavor, soft, and glazy! Indeed, it was refreshingly sour.

6. Camp Symmetry (S$8) I love the truffle, love the textural crunch, love the sweetness, love everything about it.

Windowsill pies have successfully intertwined a wonderful flavor and texture. Although, some of them are more suitable for those of you who prefer a comparatively strong flavor.

The Morello Cherry Pie came with the pretty criss-cross lattice design, instantly standing out from the other pies. The Morello cherries were sour but balanced beautifully by the sweet filling. The crust was a lovely golden brown, and was thin, light and crunchy. Every bite was a delight.

The Coconut Lime Vodka Pie came with thin and crunchy pie crust as well, as well as satin-smooth lemon curd. There was a slightly tarty flavor to the lemon curd, but not overwhelming. Within it are transparent vodka cubes - adding a bitterish but lovely touch to the pie. The pie was very delicious overall, but we were a little disappointed that the "coconut" was not a flavor within the pie itself, but presented itself merely as the dollop of coconut cream atop the tart. The vodka - if infused with the lemon curd, might have given it a more even flavor true to its name.

I had a Chai Latte (SGD$5.00). While my hot latte contained wisps of chai's aroma, the coffee itself was rather diluted.

The place is small in size. But the decorations make up for it. There is a cute looking and huge teddy bear in the middle of the cafe next to a tree.

Banana Cognac
($7.00)
It looks like a simple whipped cream pie. Below the whipped cream, is banana mousse which is light with a hint of banana. Inside the mousse, there is salty caramel and crunchy nuts. It is such an explosion of different flavours and textures in the mouth with salty, crunchy, sweet, smooth and alcoholic.

Served in a glass. It tastes thick and smooth. And also not too sweet too.

The food is great. The place looks great too, as well as, cheerful and friendly staffs around. Overall the place is a great choice to relax and enjoy the afternoon.

Camp Symmetry Slice ($8.00) - Must try!
This pie was unlike any other that we’ve tasted, it was made up of white chocolate pudding, some raisins in the middle with white truffle cookie streusel. While the components might not sound like they will blend well… It did! It was like fireworks in our mouths – this is a must try if you absolutely LOVE truffles.
Grasshopper Mint Pie is also a must try! We first had a taste of their Grasshopper Mint Pie back at Penny University
While the pies had flakey pastry, it would be nice if it had been crisper. On the whole, we fell in love with every pie we tried - they were simply delightful! Some might find the price to be slightly steep, but at least quality is definitely assured!

Ambience at Windowsill Pies is so cozy and inviting, you'll never want to leave! Faux trees and wooden panelling comprise a "forest", while a creative layout creates semi-private alcoves for dining. A retro yellow fridge stands beside a hand made wooden cupboard, while toy aeroplanes hang from colourful criss cross beams in the "sky". Picnic baskets complete with checkered cloths lay around the trees, beside the resident giant teddy bear, Mr. Picklechips. Playful, fairy tale like atmosphere!

Service at Windowsill Pies is very good. Staff are polite, friendly, and welcoming, and more than eager to display their knowledge on the various types of pies in the attractive display case. The young, high energy staff are chirpy and upbeat, efficient in fulfilling orders, and generally appear happy working at Windowsill Pies.

Food at Windowsill Pies revolves around their speciality, pies. Not savoury pies... they only make sweet / dessert pies, full of robust flavour and presented beautifully. Each slice of pie is like a work of art, you can actually see the different textures and ingredients that go into it! Portion sizes for each pie slice is large for one person, and sharing is recommended. Pricing is similar to desserts in other cafes as well, budget about SGD $7 per slice of pie, and about SGD $6 for a beverage.

Few shops do sweet / dessert pies as well as them; tasty with full flavour but still balanced, firm texture that holds up well but yields when cut, ingredients layered like a work of art, all at wallet friendly pricing.

While I commend the attempt at creating art within the Hot Chocolate (SGD $5.50), the actual taste is somewhat lacking. Yes, there is still a rather muted chocolate taste, but not as intense, not as thick, or not as rich as I'd hoped. Rather below average.

Absolutely loved the Corn Dog With Gucamole & Coleslaw (SGD $6)! The vegetables are fresh and crunchy, especially the gucamole which has some sweetness and tartness from mixing the mashed avocado with diced tomatoes and lime juice. But the star is the corn dog, featuring a meaty, juicy, perfectly grilled chicken cheese sausage, wrapped in salty, smoky bacon, with a crisp, savoury batter that shatters when bit. The gooey cheese, hot sausage, and satisfiying crunch of the batter is unforgettable.

One of their top 3 bestsellers, the Strawberry Lemon Pie (SGD $7) features a tangy, zesty lemon curd, pierced through with 2 ribbons of sweet, tart strawberry compote. Topped with a creamy meringue, this pie is well balanced and luscious, and a refreshing delight to eat!

Inspired by the classic Grasshopper Cocktail, the similarly vibrant green Grasshopper Pie (SGD $7.50) features a soft, flourless chocolate cake, topped with vibrant, refreshing crème de menthe green / mint cream. While containing no alcohol, this pie does have chunks of dense chocolate brownie within, and is garnished with shards of luscious dark chocolate, and clusters of crunchy chocolate cookies.

Upon pushing open the wooden door, you’ll be greeted by an vibrant display of eye-catching pies. They specialize in artisanal pies; all the pies are sweet but I’m not complaining!

The setting of the cafe reminds me of something you’d find a page of a children’s story book. Lively vibes with lots of chatter and friendly staff chirping away at the counter. Its self-service here-order at the counter and collect your mains from the kitchen booth when your buzzer beeps. There’s no GST or service charge.

Savory menu changes fortnightly. Selection is limited and we were quite disappointed with our choices. Texture of my Roast Beef Yorkshire Pudding($14) was too tough, because the meat was overcooked. Lightly seasoned, I could taste the natural flavor of the beef, which went well with the caramelized onions and Yorkshire pudding. However the corn chips were so bland, I was struggling to finish them (I don’t like to waste food).
M’s Handmade Burger ($18) fared better. Seasoning was spot on, but there were some dry areas within the beef patty. Chips were boring and we felt that $18 was too pricy for such a small serving.
W was starving and needed her dose of carbs. She went for Baby Octopus and Chicken Heart Pasta ($14), which was tossed in a spicy tomato base.
Using the Entertainment coupon, we enjoyed a one for one set of pie and pot of tea. We took some time to settle for 3 pies (oh choices, choices). The Gryphon Moscato Blanc (grape) an Aloe Vera Rooibos ($6 each) complemented the sweet pies well.

For adults only, the Banana Almond Brittle ($7) is a symphony of cognac cream, airy banana mousse on a almond brittle base. Salted caramel and crunchy nuts and another dimension in flavor and texture. Although I am not a fan of banana, I was quite fond of this particular pie.
Designed to represent a field, White Chocolate Truffle Pie ($8) was quite a complex explosion of flavors. A tango of sweet white chocolate and woody truffle, graced by a layer of cookie crumble and meringue (which represented soil and a mushroom respectively). Personally, the raisins and candied thyme kinda spoilt it for me. Upon biting into each raisin, the truffle flavour was overwhelmed and the candied thyme was just weird. Too many things going on at the same time IMHO.

Awake your senses with face-scrunching tartness of the Strawberry Lemon Pie ($7), completed with soft torched meringue. Tangy and refreshing, it’s a perfect perk-me-up in Singapore’s sweltering heat.

One thing quite unique about this place is that they change the menu every fortnightly. So everytime you visit, you might find something different on their menu.

We ordered two dishes; beef sandwich and beef burger. The beef sandwich was actually served in burger style with chunks of beef in the middle and taco chips on the side. The beef was tough and it was quite difficult to bite. On the other hand, the beef burger was delicious. The patty was fresh and we could tell that it was hand-made. The patty was juicy and flavourful.

The highlight of the night was their pies. I tried the chocolate mousse pie with marshmellow on top of it. The pie was nice and it wasn't too sweet either. With their menu changing every two weeks, perhaps I'd go back to this little cosy cafe again...

All three of them are of different flavors and they are all gloriously good. The taste is uniquely different for each but I love all of them equally much. The bun is sinfully fried, but the crispy crust is pure heaven.

Looks like windowsill pies aren't just good for pies, but also for Kong ba Paos!

Totally in my top ten favourite food places!

P.S I had to order 2 more slices of pies to end of my meal on a sweet note

Grasshopper ($7.5/-)

Peppermint with flourless chocolate cake, this seemed like a popular one probably due to how photogenic it is. I was expecting a refreshing burst of peppermint flavour to balance out the usually heavier tasting chocolate, but this was an utter letdown. The peppermint was too faint and it tasted like melted toothpaste, with just a hint of mint, overpowered by the cream. The chocolate was too mild too, and the typically good combination just didn’t go well in this rendition.

Coconut Lime Vodka ($8/-)

This was one that got my attention given my soft spot for fruity and citrus flavours. The pie crust was a signal for red flag though, with a gap between the filling and crust, seeming as though it was gonna fall apart.

Unlike the texture of the usual lime/lemon tarts, this was slightly stickier, somewhat like a pudding style, with cubes of vodka jelly in between. I liked how the vodka was strong enough and the lime added that refreshing touch, though a crumbly tart base would have gone better with this combination. Unfortunately, we couldn't taste the coconut in the cream on top where it's supposed to.

Morello Cherry Pie ($8/-)

I was attracted by the dark sugar coated lattice layer on top. Sour that we cringed at the first mouthful, it was then balanced by the sweet layer on top. I would have preferred it to be served fresh, so that the top and crust areas could remain hard and crisp as this lacked the texture. The fillings were disappointing too, filled with what seemed like jam, we would have preferred it to contain more juicy cherries!

This place might have been attractive with its theme and decor but we certainly wouldn't speak the same of its pies. Left disappointed, we didn’t like how the pies weren’t served fresh from the oven and were refrigerated that it left the crust and pie bases soggy. The fillings weren’t fantastic either, and definitely wasn’t worth the price. One redeeming factor was perhaps their service, where they were very helpful making recommendations and even offered to help us 'chope' our piece of pie till we were ready to dabao it.

A quaint and cozy cafe located along the shop houses near jalan besar stadium. Staff there are really friendly and helpful! We ordered lemon strawberry meringue and smores (chocolate + marshmallow) pies ($7.50 each). These two pies were pretty satisfying but it's quite a pity that they do not have a lot of choices for us who don't really like banana, mint and etc. Will definitely visit there again to chill and have a good pie!

Not knowing which pie to choose from, we decided to try out all 8 kind of pies served there. ($53). My favourite amongst all the pie is the chocolate mint pie. There's a hint of mint, with the chocolate which is not too sweet, containing a little bitter taste. Suitable for those chocolate lovers. As for the crust of the pie, its just like biscuit crust, with a hint of fragrant taste. Other pies are actually quite normal, price is also quite overpriced.

Windowsill Pies sells excellent pies. They specialize in pie, the sweet kind. Their pies are full of robust flavours and exciting textures, crafted with honest ingredients and a close attention to detail.Because we cannot decided what to have, so we ordered a slice of all the flavours available for that day. This includes Grasshopper ($7.50), Camp Symmetry ($8), Pumpkin ($7.50), Cherry ($8), Strawberry Lemon ($7), Banana ($7), S’mores ($8) and Pecan ($7)My favourites? I like the Strawberry Lemon

My favourites? I like the Strawberry Lemon Slice which is tangy, and refreshing. The classic lemon meringue tart was given a beauty makeover. This tart is perfect for a summer’s day, which is just about everyday in these parts. Also, the S’mores is lovely too. It is filled with chocolate milk pudding and dark chocolate fudge, topped with whole toasted marshmallows and homemade graham crackers. Very rich!
