Now, the question. Do you want a plate of healthy fried kway teow with no pork lards but lots of veggies or a plate of delicious yet sinful fried kway teow fried with pork lards?

Honestly, i am quite skeptical in trying a plate of fried kway teow with lots of veggies and no pork lards. There was a long queue right in front of this stall that prompted me to try. This stall was featured once in a TV programme and there was quite a few pieces of news clippings displayed too. This seemed to be a popular stall in serving a so called healthier version of fried kway teow.

I joined in the long queue and waited for about 20 minutes to give my order. I waited for a little while longer before i gotten my plate of 'green' fried kway teow. It was my first experience in having such a plate of fried kway teow.

My first mouthful of fried kway teow with the veggies was quite a disappointment. No, i did not like it. It tasted odd. I could not quite associate with the taste of such a plate of fried kway teow. It might be healthy but the taste is definitely not appealing. I do not know how to appreciate it.

It was supposed to fry with preserved radish (chye poh) but there was no slight taste of it. Perhaps this stall was trying hard to cope with the number of increasing customers during this peak hour thus neglected the quality somewhat? The veggies tasted a little too raw and hard to my liking, too.

I would rather eat a good sinful plate of fried kway teow once in a while rather than having such a healthier plate of fried kway teow often.

You might want to give it a try to decide for yourself whether you like it or not and then tell me about it.
