While awaiting for Marina Square to re-open with more F&B outlets, we head to Makansutra Gluttons Bay for dinner. It has been well-known for the variety of Singapore local foods available and a little pricey too. But once awhile for some good food, it doesn't matter.

So we decided to choose from just one stall rather than various and settled for Malay/Indian food stall, the Old Satay Club Mee Goreng. We ordered Mee Goreng ($5) and Murtabak ($6). We can choose what we want from Chicken, Mutton or Vegetable. So a Vegetable Mee Goreng and Mutton Murtabak.

Knowing that this is gonna be a hot and spicy meal, we ordered from The Gluttons Bar a Carrot/Orange Juice ($3) and Calamansi with plum ($1.70) to lower down the heat.

First up was Mee Goreng. The Indian style mee goreng that is cooked with red colourings. If you want a Malay style mee goreng, opt for Mee Goreng Kampong. So the mee goreng was hot and spicy, with lots of vegetables that is not overcooked and stays crunchy. One thing is the portion of noodles and vegetables are not balanced as the leftovers are mainly vegetables. But it is great because having more vegetables can help reduce a little oiliness and spiciness for later part in 'attacking' the Murtabak.

So right after Mee Goreng, our Murtabak came. It looks so nice and the smell is great even before eating it. All I can describe Murtabak is that a nicely cooked roti prata, topped with mutton, onions and all before wrapping it up to have it as a whole. Yummy and juicy. The roti prata skin is so crispy and the fillings within just purge out from every bite. The mutton have a bit of pepper taste or maybe it has been marinated with some sauce that makes it so savoury. Pleasing the palate.

As for the curry gravy to complement the Murtabak, is not thick enough but still nice, with potato and carrot in it.

Overall satisfied with their food. Will come again next time.
