At first, I was skpetical about the buffet spread at Grand Park Orchard. But as other hotels buffet prices are steep, I decided to try it out at Grand Park Orchard. And it did not disappoint me. At first, I was skpetical about the buffet spread at Grand Park Orchard. But as other hotels buffet prices are steep, I decided to try it out at Grand Park Orchard. And it did not disappoint me.

The spread is not much but the quality of the food is there. I like the concept where you place an order with the station's cook, and they will serve the food to you. There is no need to queue. You can savour other dishes at your table while waiting for your next food to be served. This concept has another advantage. The serving station is less messy.

The first station serves roast meat, pork char siew, duck and chicken. I am not a fan of roast meat, but they are juicy and tender, nicely done. The second station serves noodles. They have mee siam, laksa, sichuan and wanton mee. I tried the mee siam and laksa. I prefer laksa as the concoction of coconut milk and spiciness is just right. Mee siam is not so nice to my taste bud. There is a big fresh prawn in the mee siam and laksa. Although they are local hawker dishes, they are cooked to perfection in Grand Park.

The third station serves dim sum. The standard har gao, siew mai, bao, lotus leaf rice are delicious and not too salty. The lotus leaf rice could be better though. It looses point when compared to that of Crystal Jade.

The fourth station serves pizza. These are freshly baked hand-made pizza. The crust is thin and the ingredients are fresh. We only have enough stomach for a Teriyaki Chicken pizza. It is very nice, unlike those in Pizza Hut. It looks more like those in Skinny Pizza. One such 10' pizza can easily cost $15++. Over here in Open House, you are spoilt with unlimited serving of 4 choices.

The fifth station serves claypot dishes. Claypot is a must have here. We ordered assam fish slices. It tates nice but not spicy enough. Perhaps they want to cater to those who cannot take spiciness. Too bad, we are so full that we have no room to try other claypot dishes.

The last is a salad bar where you take what you like. The centre is also opening serving type where all the cakes and fruits are. The cakes are of good quality type. I adore the chocoloate mousse cake, chocolate blueberry cake and mango cake. You can help yourself to ice cream too! I think kids will love this.

Service wise, they are prompt in clearing your plate and refill your glasses.

There is also complimentary car park for lunch buffet including Saturday. For the price of $25++, it is a good deal in one of the high-end hotels in Orchard.

I will return.
