Eat at Seven: Sushi, Wagyu, and Japanese-Italian Additions
2015-07-24
Eat at Seven unveils three more concepts under their belt, in addition to their charcoal grill izakaya, Enbu. This includes a sushi restaurant, yakiniku beef restaurant, and Japanese-Italian café.

Maguro-Donya Miura-Misaki-Kou Sushi and Dining

A maguro (tuna) cutting demonstration at Maguro-Donya Miura-Misaki-Kou Sushi and Dining preceded the evening. Flown in directly from their warehouse in Japan, this prized maguro is used primarily for making sushi and sashimi.

Three Cuts of Hon Maguro Sashimi ($38) from the same fish above consists of 3 kinds of sashimi: Akami, Chutoro, and Otoro, with the last being the fattiest and rarest. Needless to say, the Otoro was polished off the fastest with praises all around for its oily texture and unparalleled freshness.

However, if you prefer your food cooked, you can go for the Grilled Maguro Kama ($34), which is the cheek of the maguro. The soft, pliable flesh dripped juice when probed with a fork, and it turned out smoother than a Casanova at work. NikuNoHi

The second restaurant is NikuNoHi, which specialises in yakiniku, or grilled meats. They offer A5-grade Wagyu beef and 23 other beef parts at competitive prices, so you can get variety and value under the same roof. For example, the Premium Rare Plate with 3 different cuts of beef costs only $48, and it includes parts like the tri-tip, bottom flap, and rump. NIGIRO café

The final concept for the day was NIGIRO café, serving Japanese-Italian food in a more casual setting. The name actually stems from “Origin” spelt backwords, and often has hour-long queues in Japan.

One of the more outstanding dishes was the Short Pasta Melazane ($19). A random scoop will get you springy fusilli in tomato sauce, 2-3 different kinds of cheeses, and a touch of pepper to balance it out.
