Located at the new wing of Marina Square,Emporium Shokuhin Gourmet Grocer is a sprawling 11,000 sq feet – the equivalent of 10 five room HDB flats. Offering a wide selection of products, this grocer is a paradise for Japanese food lovers. They sell fresh Japanese produce and snacks but what sets them apart from their competitors is their live seafood market and beef dry aging facility. At Emporium Shokuhin, you also get to save while spending as their prices are 10-20 per cent cheaper than other supermarkets.

Live Seafood Market

Krystale Oysters
The market also boasts live oysters from France, U.S.A and Canada. Some of the French oysters available are: Gillardeau, Fine de Claire, and award-winning Krystale. If you feel like having some sashimi, head over to their chilled seafood display and request for some Nagasaki Bluefin Tuna!

Singapore’s First Beef Dry Aging Facility

Singapore’s First Beef Dry Aging Facility
At Emporium Shokuhin, a lot of work goes into the juicy slices of beef you taste; the beef carcasses are left in a special temperature and humidity-controlled glass room to dry and age, which takes a minimum of 14 to 40 days. After which, they are portioned. USDA Prime Graded Beef, Japanese A5 Miyazaki Beef, grass fed beef from Australia and U.S.A are some of the choices available. Ideal for gatherings and gifts, you can purchase the beef in a pre-packaged Japanese bento box.

Ehime Specialities Corner

Ehime Specialities Corner
Emporium Shokuhin is the first store outside Japan that Ehime is exporting to. One of Ehime’s star produce is the natural sea salt harvested along its coast, also known as fleur de sel. As the top citrus producer in Japan, Ehime is famous for its sweet mikans, or mandarin oranges. Be sure to try out some of the products containing the fruit, such as ponzu dressing, miso dips and marmalades.
