1. Strangers Reunion

This name is synonymous in the café scene with their fluffy buttermilk waffles and truffle fries. Also, the coffee served here is dubbed one of the best around. Butter Studio offers a wide range of sweet desserts and also all day brunch items. Come here for your after dinner dessert fix and you can stay late as they open all the way to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Try their Sea Salt Caramel Nutella Tart ($6.90). This is a treat as the thickness of the crust is proportional to the Nutella filling, balancing out the flavours well. 3. MU Parlour

This cozy little spot tucked away in the second level of Holland Village is the perfect place to kick back after a long week. Besides a modern and classy interior, they serve up a wide range of both sweet and savoury items. Try their Duo Chocolate Mousse on Brownie, a perfect balance of ingredients and taste, this delicious dessert. You definitely get more than you pay for as you get to stay all the way to 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays before the shop closes. 4. Lola’s Café

One thing you must try at Lola’s Café is their Honey Paprika Crispy Wings ($10). This crowd-favourite is a stunner and 8 wings go for a mere $10, hence making it perfect for sharing. Expect long queues even on weekday afternoons at Lola’s as people swarm to this humble little café that serves delicious and unpretentious food. Hang out here up till 12am on Fridays and Saturdays. Popular with the younger crowd, Habitat Coffee is a cozy little café along Upper Thomson Road. Serving up fuss-free comfort food, they serve a range of pastas, coffee and desserts. Order your favourite choice of pasta from their various pasta mains and a serving of their highly-raved about Truffle Fries ($9) and you are set. 6. Milk & Honey Gelato

Value-for-money gelato and a modern ambience, it is no surprise that this dessert joint is always packed with people. For just $4 for a single scoop, enjoy freshly made gelato flavours such as White Mac, Salted Caramel and Salty Malty. The interior of The Orange Thimble is the main draw of the place. With funky furniture and various paintings hanging on the wall, this place is homely and comforting – perfect for a chill-out session with your buddies. Kick back with some coffee and desserts over the comfiest seats here – sofa seats. Yes, you get to get cozy in this Aussie-inspired café that promises to free you of your worries for the night because of its relaxing ambience and simple but hearty fare. Located in the trendy Keong Saik neighbourhood, this quaint little café serves up really good coffee and various salads and mains. Oddly enough, the star of their menu is their range of salads as they serve up a generous amount at affordable prices. Try The Macho Salad ($15) – smoked salmon, grilled chicken, bacon and mesclun salad.
