Now at Open Door Policy
We daresay Lazy Susan has launched well for it's first pop-up stint, having roped in Chef Haan Palcu-Chang, a good-looking Chinese-Romanian, who certainly ups the ante on café food that remain unpretentious and slightly nostalgic despite its modern twist. For someone who didn’t grow up scoffing down one too many har cheong gais, he executes the hawker classic perfectly in his Crispy Shrimp Paste Chicken with Rice Flour Waffles and Sambal Maple - “Stinky Meets Crispy” ($22). Same goes to the Fried Carat Cake ($9), which Chef Haan makes from scratch, transforming this Taiwanese-style carrot cake with the use of a light curry sauce, pickled mustard greens and jalapeños. More dishes we loved: Muscle Cheese Surf & Turf ($11), Lotus Root Salad ($9) and Corny Bollywood Pancake ($12). Lazy Susan will pop-up at Open Door Policy daily from 5 to 24 Jan.Written by Peh Yi Wen Image: Lazy Susan
