Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. However, our busy schedules prevent us from having a luxurious meal in the morning. As a result, we often feel sluggish, sleepy, and with little or no energy for the whole day. Come lunch time, we tend to wolf down whatever food we see in front of us. Dieticians have said it over and over again: this is not healthy!
When we wake up in the morning, our bodies are deprived of food and water. And so, we need to bring it back to its normal state by
eating healthy food. Though we may not feel hungry, we should nourish our body by eating a hearty breakfast. By that, we mean foods which are rich in fiber such as
smoothies, whole grains, protein, and carbohydrates. When combined, all of these foods give us enough energy so we remain active and focused at work. It is also advisable that we add some fruits in our morning meal as these also contain vitamins we need for a healthier body.
In choosing your breakfast, remember not to eat too much sugar for these only provide temporary satisfaction. Sugar has a way of tricking our minds and bodies so we feel full for just a few hours. Then, we get really hungry again and so we eat more during lunch break.
When we start our day right, you’d be surprised how it’s going to affect our lives in a positive way. Firstly, you won’ get that frequent pangs of hunger every morning. Notice how we always lose focus if we’re hungry? With a full stomach, we become more efficient at work. Since we don’t lose our concentration because we don’t hear our tummies growling, we accomplish so much more.
Eating every morning also helps quicken our metabolism. Consuming food in the day kick starts your digestive system so it works early to break down what you ate. When your first meal of the day is lunch, our bodies save as much energy as they could so metabolism is put on hold. And so, some of what we ate are not digested properly and turn into fat.
To avoid these, we just have one simple thing to do: eat a healthy breakfast. As we may have gotten used to skipping this important meal of the day, it may take a while before we can fit it in our daily rituals. But you will be amazed on how this can have a positive effect on your lifestyle. And so, we recommend you to eat in the morning!
