Escapade to Paradise at Brewbaker’s Kitchen and Bar
2013-11-20
Situated at Anchorvale Community Club next to Sengkang Riverside Park, Brewbaker’s Kitchen and Bar is the perfect hideout to escape from the hustle and bustle of our urban lifestyle. A few lucky OpenRicers got to join us one evening to experience their revamped innovative Japanese-Western menu created by Chef Michael amidst the tranquil and picturesque lush greenery and calm waters.
Vibrant dishes created by the chef to delight your senses
Our Food Tasting session began with the colourful and refreshing Sashimi Caesar Salad (top left) that comes with chunks of salmon and tuna slices on crisp fresh greens. Our OpenRice members imhester and y_lyn also enjoyed the chef’s selection of fresh Matsu Sushi Moriawase (top right) which includes Yellowtail, Salmon Roe and Ebi sushi. Further whetting our appetite, we got to try chef’s Atsuage Tofu (bottom deep fried till golden brown and topped with bonito flakes which is best savored with a dash of Japanese soy sauce.
Innovative Japanese dishes with a twist of fusion
The Carbonara Udon (top left) won a number of praises from the members for the night with its springy homemade udon. The cream base sauce wasn’t too overwhelming and the bacon bits with the sunny side up make it very delicious! Mushroom lovers will enjoy the Kinoko Pizza (top right) topped with three different types of mushrooms complete with bonito flakes on soft pizza crust. OpenRice member blessedbabyhannah enjoyed the succulent N.Z Beef Rib (bottom left) marinated with the flavoursome homemade BBQ sauce which tasted just right to her liking. Served on an electric stove, the Beef Shabu Shabu (bottom right) comes with a generous serving of sliced beef which complements the sweetness from the assorted vegetable broth.
Tender juicy beef grilled over charcoal stove
Dining at Brewbaker’s Kitchen and Bar is more than just eating and enjoying the food. Over here, you can have a hands-on experience of grilling your own Ribeye Yakiniku (above) over molten charcoal for that rustic flavour. The slices of beef were thoroughly marinated and you have to be careful not to overcook them so to retain its juiciness and tender texture.
Thank you Chef Michael and Manager Mr Hajiwara for the warm hospitality!
It was a restful evening for the soul with the laid-back atmosphere which is ideal for a perfect city getaway while enjoying Chef Michael's Japanese-Western creations. Do visit Brewbaker's Kitchen and Bar with your family and friends for a city getaway today for a casual dining experience in the dining room and alfresco area.
