Last week, OpenRice.com, in conjunction with TLC, gave two OpenRicers and their friends a chance to enjoy an exclusive dinner with Bobby Chinn at Shiraz, his favorite Persian restaurant in Singapore.
Traces of the stand-up comedian in Bobby's past career is still evident today with his razor-sharp humor and friendly disposition, warming up the group instantly.
The worldly restaurateur who studied economics and finance in London, found himself cooking up a storm all around Asia and this time he is set on taking us with him on his journey to 8 different destinations in Middle East, uncovering ancient recipes on the streets, once again attempting to tease and tempt the taste-buds and hearts of many. Yes, dear Bobby, we'll be interested to learn more about "Middle Eastern" cuisine and the four main influences (Persian, Levantine, Turkish and North African) that it is comprise of.
We know we've said it once when we interviewed him here
, but it is worth the reminder:
The award-winning chef will have his new show, World Cafe: Middle East premiering every Monday at 10 p.m. in Singapore, starting October 25.
In this episode you'll catch Bobby cruising through the capital of Istanbul, Damascus and Aleppo (dubbed the "Pearl of the Arab Kitchen"), Jordan and the West Bank and Cairo and Alexandria. No one does it better than Bobby, who won the Best Entertainment Presenter Award for his role for the 12th Asian Television Awards held in Singapore in 2007.
