Dropped by for a friend's birthday celebration on a quiet Sunday afternoon. We arrived around 4 but most of the cakes were already sold out so be warned: come early to avoid disappointment! Kinabaru - coconut mousse with passionfruit centre

This was the flavour that we got 2 slices of. Everyone really enjoyed this one, it's fruity and very light. Well, actually, most of Kki's cakes are light! The crumbly base was excellent.

Emily - champagne mousse with wild strawberry centre

This one was my favourite of the lot. I love alcohol-infused stuff and strawberry-anything so this just sealed the deal for me. This cake's more on the cold side so eat it fast.

Fromage Melon (left) - cheese mousse with rock melon centre and Onigiri (right) - basil infused milk chocolate mousse with blood orange centre

The Fromage Melon was so-so, couldn't really taste the cheese. Definitely tasted more rock melon. As for the Onigiri, this took the award for "Most Creative Flavour" for us - who uses basil in cake? Only Kki! Super refreshing choice!

Cafe Dumo - chocolate coffee mousse with praline centre

This is probably one of Kki's slightly heavier cakes. It may seem like an average coffee choco cake but once you stick your fork in you'd understand that it's not. The exterior is so delicate and a tad bitter and it adds this nice contrast to the thick, sweet praline centre. It takes a lot of skill to make something so heavy well-balanced like this.

The milk tea - pretty light, more tea-ish than milky, a little too diluted for my liking but still satisfying.

I can see myself returning to Kki over and over again. They also make their cakes in different sizes so you know what to do the next time you're in need of a damn good birthday cake for special someone ;)
