As with most roasted meat stalls, Hiang Ji proudly displays its meats for the day (or days) for customers. Their restaurant has gotten larger over the years and now accommodates more people, even having an air-conditioned area in the small dining area - something that is a big plus for Singapore's terribly tropical climate.Once you take your seat, the staff at Hiang Ji take your order very proactively, recommending you specials if you have never been there before, and remembering you if you have visited previously - down to your favourites and being fully capable of predicting how many servings of rice, soup or meat you will need when you order.Don't doubt the staff - they are fully capable of estimating the amount you need if you aren't, and are always happy to help. So, after we got our order in, food started arriving within 5 to 10 minutes, quickly filling up our round table, as the staff arrived with plates of steaming rice, trays of roasted meats slathered in special sauce, glistening roasted duck, flash fried vegetables piled mountain high sprinkled with bright red chilis and popping green chives.continued at http://i-got-it-from-my-mama.blogspot.sg/2013/10/hiang-ji-roasted-meat-noodle-house.html

Dinner tonight was really satisfying. With a big plate of roasted pork and a generous portion of vegetable with oyster sauce. This noodle house is quite spacious but is abit warm here. Service is fast and friendly from most of the staffs here. I have paid less than $20 which is quite cheap. Roasted pork is very crispy on the skin and the meat is not too oily and quite tender. Vegetable is also very fresh and crunchy with not too salty oyster sauce topped on it. Yummy!

We decided to have our dinner over at this hawker/restaurant stall named “Hiang Ji Roasted Meat & Noodle House” at one corner of the back lane outside Toa Payoh HDB as the staff is very persistent in getting us to dine at their place and since I saw that there are quite a lot of customer eating at this place, we thought that their food should be quite nice to eat.The restaurant is actually a stand alone hawker stall with their own sets of tables and chairs. We looked through the menu and started to order our dish. Overall, the staff are very attentive and is quick to answer our queries and request.Very bad choice to eat at this place as the rice is very hard. Should be never put enough water to cook or taken out before it is fully cooked. Meat wise is even worst!!! There are not much edible meat given but mostly is bones while the meat texture is quite tough and when you eat, you could even eat or bite into some crushed bones (Though the duck did taste nice) which gives an overall bad dining experience at this stall. There are no side soup given as what other duck rice stall would do and I think the only good thing is their sauce. The duck meat for the noodle is a bit better but mostly is fatty skin while lower is all bones again. (The duck must be a very thin as they do not have much meat to be eaten). Noodle wise, is very dry and not really nice to eat.Chicken noodle in terms of meat is much much better than the roasted duck rice / noodle but there are not much taste from this dish. The chef did put a lot of fried garlic and fried Lard onto it

Outside Toa Payoh HDB Hub, there was a back lane behind those shop houses. This backlane has a number of roasted meat stalls. But dining there was slightly hot.I was unsure which best roasted meat stall to dine at, so I chose the first corner stall on the left. I had ordered roasted duck meat noodles with char siew. The roasted duck meat tasted good. The skin was still crispy and there was a layer of fats under the skin. The duck meat was not tough, it was tender and moist. The char siew was very good. There was half fats and half meat. The fats almost slowly melted in your mouth, the meat was tender and moist. There was also roasted sweet caramel taste on the red outer layer of the char siew. The noodles were spingy and there was special black sweet sauce under the noodle. When mixed together, the combination tasted very good.

Didn't know Hiang Ji Roasted meat & Noodle House is kind of 'Famous' store at Toa Payoh. As my friend and I were there by chance and decided to settle our dinner at toa payoh, it was around 8pm when we patronised so there isn't crowd or I would say hmm no people there actually. The duck meat tasted really good however the price is abit too pricey i feel. The service was quite bad and the boss seemed t be a little impatient perhaps because I requested my duck meat to be changed to egg and tofu.Nevertheless, the food tasted good. But if you are those that are particular about service, maybe you would like to think twice.
