A New Menu to Relish at Pontini
2011-11-21
If you’re looking for a reason to dine at Pontini Restaurant, we’ll give you 24! Just recently, they introduced a revamped menu which features new dishes mostly inspired by Chef Domenico Piras’ Italian and Sardinian roots.
Pan-seared Sliced Pork Loin and Parma Ham on Green Asparagus, Muscat Fruit
Like all good meals, start it off with their hearty appetisers which feature some of their signatures such as scallops, sliced pork loin, and ham. These usually come with sides such as the green asparagus, which was perfectly cooked to retain its crunch. As for their main dishes, there are a lot of choices which you can choose from. One new dish which you must try is their Sardinian classic, the Veal Chop alla Sassare. What makes this interesting is that the garlic and rosemary are hidden inside the thick and tender meat. It’s also served baked herb potato and asparagus wrapped in bacon on the side.
Salmon and Sea Bass Roulade served with Fish Roe, Micro Cress, Parsley Sauce, and Roasted Pine Nut
Opting for fish? You can also have their salmon and sea bass roulade served with fish roe, micro cress, parsley sauce, and roasted pine nut. The chef has managed to cook the fish perfectly so it retains its tenderness and crispiness of the skin. If you prefer some pasta, then they have the homemade squid ink taglioni with flower squid, broccoli floret, and porcini mushroom. Other pastas in their menu are the ocean shrimp with linguini in vine ripe tomato jam, green pea powder, and bottarga; spaghetti with assorted seafood; and homemade fettuccini with chanterelle mushroom in chicken, mouscron sauce! The risotto, which is Chef Domenico Piras' signature dish, is also part of the menu. Relish in their mixed vegetable risotto, porcini mushroom, foie gras barolo wine reduction. They also have two new dishes, the seafood and the pumpkin cream, scallop, black truffle risotto.
Baked Vanilla Ice Cream served with Chocolate Sauce and Carrot Cake with Mascarpone Cream Sauce
Desserts have been also made sweeter at this restaurant with the addition of the baked vanilla ice cream served with chocolate sauce and the carrot cake with mascarpone cream sauce. Pontini is the place to be when you’re craving for some Italian dishes. What’s so good about this restaurant is that it keeps on revamping their menu to give you more choices on what you can try. -- Address: Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, 391 Havelock Road, Level 2 Tel.
