Stand aside xiao long bao, there's a new dumpling in town. Popular restaurant chain Din Tai Fung recently introduced the Pan-fried Shrimp & Pork Gyoza ($8 for 5 pcs) as a permanent menu item at the Paragon, Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa outlets.
Oozing with mouth-watering juices and a crisp outer layer, the dumplings are made with skill and intricacy by the chefs. Freshly made and filled with black pepper, chives, minced shrimp and pork, they are best eaten with the restaurant's signature noodle and rice dishes.
Two new beverages are also introduced – Coral Seaweed with Barley ($3.80) and Iced Sour Plum with Kumquat ($4.30).
The former is a refreshing concoction of barley and hai yan wo and the latter is a rejuvenating combination of sour plum juice with the added nourishment of kumquat and honey.
These two drinks are available from now until 31 March 2015 at Din Tai Fung Paragon and BreadTalk IHQ only.
