District 10 @ UE Square Unveils: New Look, New Menu
2014-04-22
District 10’s flagship outlet at UE Square has recently undergone a facelift to reveal a fresh new look. A sleek bar greets you at the entrance – charming bartenders present, of course, with a private dining room hidden behind a sliding glass door at the far corner. It boasts walls lined with framed wine labels from the Antinori wine estate, chic designer chairs, as well as the option to take on a customized menu by Chef Luca to complete the spruced up dining experience.

The main dining hall seats up to 50 people, while the Antinori Private Dining Room is perfect for a group of 12.

The D10 Punch

Equally classy is the main dining hall, where you’ll be able to enjoy a full-fledged gourmet menu (keep reading for the highlights). For you casual folks, seek a seat in the alfresco area that offers signature bar bites like Mini Black Angus Cheddar Cheese Burgers ($12++) and Weisswurst Sausages with Buttered Mashed Potato and Onion Gravy ($18++). A new cocktail worth getting woozy over is the D10 Punch ($34++), fit for a party of four, where a blend of Moscato wine meets crème de cassis, dark rum, apples, mixed berries and a good lace of ginger ale. P.S. Happy Hour is available daily from 11am to 8pm with offers such as 1-for-1 draft beer, housepour spirits, housepour wines by the glass, exotic gin tonics and Pizza of the Day at a nett price of $10. New & Noteworthy Dishes At the very start of the meal, you’ll be treated to a complimentary serving of bread – not your average joe basket of butter rolls but heavenly homemade ones filled with specks of feta cheese and sundried tomatoes.

Pan-Fried Goose Liver with Wild Berries Sauce and Balsamic Syrup

The starters section is marked with exiciting choices like Burratina Cheese ($18++) and Green Asparagus with sage butter ($18++) but we urge you to go on and order the Pan-Fried Goose Liver that comes with an uplifting wild berry sauce and balsamic syrup – our choice starter and a definite must-try.

Crispy Goose Leg Confit with Roasted Garlic and Soft Potato Mousse

Stunning mains include the Signature Black Angus Beef Striploin ($36++) that comes with a side of fried eggs and black truffle, and a Crispy Goose Leg Confit ($26++) featuring roasted garlic and a complementing bed of soft potato mousse we reckon no meat lover would be able to resist.

Homemade Angel Hair Pasta with Lobster, Peperoncino, Basil and Fresh Tomatoes

For those in the know, District 10’s sister restaurant Bonta closed its doors just a few months back. Thankfully, Chef Luca has brought over some old favourites from the beloved Italian restaurant including the Homemade Foie Gras Ravioli ($34++), a rich and sinful dish covered in light parmesan sauce and scamorza cheese. And unlike its usual form, the Homemade Angel Hair Pasta arrives in a zesty tomato base embossed with notes of lobster, pepperoncino and basil. On a side note, District 10 also dishes out locally inspired brunch creations such as a Pandan-Coconut Pancake with Gula Melaka Syrup ($9++) and Pizza with Wagyu Beef Cheek Rendang ($29++). If that doesn’t tempt you, perhaps their signature Hoegaarden Battered Fish and Chips ($22++) might. As featured in our list of kid-friendly restaurants, a big bouncy castle makes an appearance here on the weekends – a good distraction for your ‘energized bunnies’ while you take brunch at your own pace.
