More Than Just Breads at Bread Society, There’s Also Brunch!
2013-10-03
The renovated outlet of Bread Society at Suntec City looks more inviting than ever. When you take the Esplanade MRT (exit A), it’s the first thing you’ll see once you enter the mall. And boy, does it give a good first impression with its bright and spacious interior, marble-top tables and floorings, rustic chairs, and eye-catching intricate glass lamps. It also has tall glass walls which allow the natural light to enter, making the ambience look more cheery.
With 6 new creations, Bread Society has about 80 bread items in total
With the recent renovation of Bread Society, the bigger space now features a boulangerie and a 35-seater café. Diners and shoppers can drop by any time and enjoy the new dine-in menu which offers breakfast items, lunch specials, and classic desserts. For an early breakfast, you will definitely fall in love with the French Toast ($6.50), which comes with gourmet coffee. Order the full package with your choice of sausage, scrambled eggs, or even smoked bacon. Trust us; it will keep you fuelled to last you through the day.
The Society
Have you ever noticed how brunches are the “in” thing nowadays? Well, you’ll be glad to know that Bread Society has a couple of all-day brunch offerings, which we’re happy to say, are quite affordable. A favourite of ours is The Society ($15.80) which comes with baked pancake, butter, maple syrup, baby back bacon, and pork sausage. FYI, the pancake is thick that it would seem like it’s cake. But the texture is not so dense that the butter and syrup will still seep through easily, making it rich and oh-so-sweet!
Katsu Sandwich
Other notable mentions are usual suspects such as the Scrambled Eggs & Brioche ($13.80), Grilled Chicken Sandwich ($13.80), and the Japanese-inspired Katsu Sandwich ($13.80) which is created with fried tonkatsu pork loin, shredded cabbage, and tonkatsu sauce. These premiere ingredients are then sandwiched between dark rye multi-grain toasts made in-house. You can have the tonkatsu with rice too, you know. The catch: the Katsu Curry Rice ($13.80) is available from 12pm to 2pm only. If you find yourself at Bread Society during these hours, we recommend that you give this dish a try.
Salted Caramel Lava Chocolate Cake
Oh, desserts - we can’t live without them, couldn’t we? Bread Society’s café features old time classics such as the Carrot Cake, Crème Brulee served with ginger cookies, and the Salted Caramel Lava Chocolate Cake ($6.90). Once you cut in half, the melted chocolate just oozes out of the cake. Another must-try creation is the “Desserts in a Jar”. For just $8.50, you can sample the Mont Blanc and Apple Crumble. You can also keep the jars once you’ve emptied them.
Chestnut and Olive Pain de Campagne
Breads will always be Bread Society’s butter. To coincide with the newly-revamped outlet, Japanese pastry chef Atsushi Murata and his team have crafted 6 new creations: Edamame ($2.30), Chestnut Pain De Campagne ($2), Figs Pain de Campaigne ($1.80), Olive Pain de Campagne ($1.60), Mentaiko Baguette ($2.50), and the Strawberry Blueberry and Apricot Croissant ($3.50). All in all, Bread Society has about 70 to 80 bread products available. Together with the items from the café, there are so many reasons why you should drop by the outlet now. --- Address: Suntec City,#03-301/302, 3 Temasek Boulevard Tel.
