Tiffin Cruise @ Singapore River
2012-07-17
In conjunction with the Singapore Food Festival 2012 (SFF), the Singapore River Cruise and Crave Singapore collaborate for a one-of-a-kind experience that will leave you with a deeper understanding of Singapore’s rich history.
Embarkation and disembarkation are designated at the Marina Bay Jetty.
The cruise will pass by iconic landmarks that are picture-perfect –views you will never get while travelling on land.
What you can expect to see: Merlion, Fullerton Hotel, Maybank Towers, Bank of China, UOB Plaza, OCBC Center, Boat Quay shophouses, Elgin Bridge, Coleman Bridge, Central @ Clark Quay, Under the Read Bridge, Liang Court (turning point), Parliament House, Art House, Asian Civilisation Museum, Cavenagh Bridge, Anderson Bridge, Lim Bo Seng Memorial, Esplanade, Marina Bay Floating Platform, Art Science Museum and Marina Bay Sands –all in an unobstructed view.
A great way to escape from the bustling city life!
Take in the spectacular scenic view as you travel down the Singapore River, while tucking into a well-balanced and wholesome meal packed in a vintage-looking tiffin carrier –which will be yours to keep as a memento after the meal.
Sambal Prawns
This year’s theme for the Singapore Food Festival is seafood, thus the tiffin carrier is packed with various seafood dishes. The sambal prawns are coated with a deliciously aromatic sambal sauce that is slightly spicy –just enough to whet your appetite.
Vegetables and Mushrooms
Vegetables are briefly stir-fried just so that it retains its vivid green colour, freshness and crunch, accompanied by plump juicy mushrooms.
There are two types of Seafood Fried Rice, which I suspect one is slightly spiced with sambal. This version is lacking in the taste department.
This lighter-coloured version outweighs the disappointment in the other version –it is more flavourful and tasty.
Mussels, Fried Calamari and Fried Fish
The plump juicy mussels will leave you wanting more. The Fried Fish is a tad dry and lacks crispness. The Fried Calamari could be of a bigger portion but are highly addictive.
Rempah Udang
The Rempah Udang, a glutinous rice dessert, stole the show. Wrapped in a banana leave that imparts fragrance to the dessert, the rice is perfectly soft without being mushy; and the sweetness level of the spiced coconut topping is just right.
It may not be a lavish spread, but the experience will leave you with many wonderful memories with your loved ones, and fill your photo albums with fun and joy. -- Date: On Demand Duration: 1 hour Venue: Embarkation and disembarkation – Marina Bay Jetty Admission: $68+ (Subjected to minimum booking of 20 pax per session) Click here for more details How to get here?
