Formerly a wine bar, Verre is now a full-fledged restaurant.
Specialising in modern French cuisine and wine pairing, Verre Modern Bistro & Wine Bar has launched a new menu, which is accompanied by an impressive selection of more than 750 labels of fine wine, predominantly from Bordeaux and Burgundy.
Led by Consultant Chef Masashi, the restaurant places equal importance on their food and wine, allowing the two complement each other to further elevate the flavours of the meal. With delicious food, a laid-back atmosphere and impeccable service, this is the place to visit for a memorable dining experience.
Verre Modern Bistro & Wine Bar’s appetisers hit home right from the start. It is worth noting that their dishes are consistently plated or presented in glass to strengthen the restaurant‘s concept of glass – Verre meaning ‘glass’ in French.
Available as an appetiser in-house or to-go, the Chicken Liver Parfait ($24) comes in a tiny glass jar. Along with French baguette slices, the Chicken Liver Parfait is a smooth decadent treat that is brought to a whole new level when eaten with the dehydrated Australian mandarin orange slices.
Another appetiser that shined was their Half Lobster Salad ($38), sheltered under a large glass cloch, where Maine lobster is cooked in court-bouillon broth and served on a smooth guacamole base. For garlic lovers, their aromatic Black Garlic Soup ($19) is worth a try.
If you love scallops, do yourself a favour and order their Pan-seared Scallops with Sweet Corn ($38), which is one of their signature mains.
The succulent American scallops are slathered with a Hokkaido corn puree and garnished with kombu seaweed, truffle oil, pea shoot, oven baked parmesan tuille and parmesan foam.
For a refreshing end to a lovely dinner, get their deconstructed Apple Mille-feuille($16), served in an elegant martini glass.
Delve right into the layers of caramelised filo pastry for a smooth vanilla custard flavoured cream. The accompanying apple sorbet and compote add a tart and crisp finish to the dessert!
