After garnering more than more than 250 entries from all across the Asia Pacific region, the entries for Eat List Star have closed. Qualified participants are currently fulfilling their one-minute video challenge, which will end on 15 Jan.
They have been tasked to create a modern Asian dish that best represents themselves and video themselves introducing the dish. The Eat List Star panel of judges and the public will shortlist the top 50 contestants.
Chef Ryan Clift from the restaurant-bar Tippling Club, restaurateur Loh Lik Peng, radio DJ Simone Heng, journalist Cheryl Tiu and actor-host Uttsada Panichkul (Utt) are judging the competition. The public can vote for their favourite dishes via “likes” here, which will contribute to the participants’ final scores.
Participants who make it to the next round will face another challenge before the top 20 will earn a spot to compete in an intense five-day boot camp in Singapore, complete with tough training and cooking challenges. The final three will have the chance to not only develop their culinary careers but also secure long-term media and business development contracts with Mediacorp.
