Even though this vegetable dish may look plain and simple, but you will be surprise on how good it tastes. The portion is quite generous and the price is quite reasonable. The green vegetables are crunchy and fresh. With a some sliced carrots cooked in it which added that extra nutritious value to it and at the same time slightly improve the appearance of it. It is not too salty and oily, really ideal for all age group and best served a a bowl of plain rice. Read More

always wanted to try the roast duck based on good reviews from my friends so decided to give it a try recently. ordered the roast duck, fried rice and some side dishes. i would have to say the roast duck is really not bad, the skin is crispy but perhaps a little on the salty side but is still good even for a fussy eater like myself. the fried rice is always not bad, quite fragrant. but other dishes like veggie are just average2Read More

Dian Xiao Er is a pretty decent place for a simple chinese meal. My mum and I do not mind popping into any of their outlets whenever we chanced upon one. Granted, we will not purposely go and eat at Dian Xiao Er for their signature roasted duck is nothing to scream about. Recently, many of their suburb outlets are having a $10++ lunch promotion (2pm to 5pm) which includes herbal duck, fried vegetables, rice and chinese tea. I decided to give the duck a second chance although I do not agree with their definition of lunchtime! Ok the duck is still way too salty. I suspected the gravy there to hide the lack lustre and lack crispy skin. The meat of the duck kind of stick onto the bones. However, the duo miao was excellent with a good kick of wok-hei. There was ziltch raw taste of the vegetable at all. Really, good duo miao I must say. Dian Xiao Er also use superior quality jasmine rice which went very well with the duck gravy. Ironically, I was happy with my meal but not the duck. Some dishes simply do not deserve a second chance. Read More
