Chomp Chomp Food Centre is one of the classic hawkercentres in Singapore where you can bring your foreign friend to introduce all kinda of hawker food. They have everything under one roof. Literally. This place is also next to Serangoon Gardens where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. Bookmark this under the next place to visit for a group outing!Satay (10 for $5) is a must-have for me in this hawker feast! This was not the best, but yummy enough to satisfy my minimum expectations. It would have been more ideal if there was more meat and juicier too. But I guess it's a trend in hawker centres where stallholders scrimp a bit more on satay portions. The satay sauce was thick and concentrated with fragrant peanuts!Read More

The fragrance of freshly barbequed satay can be smelled from a distance when one walks into Chomp Chomp. Love the sweet and slightly charred taste of the well barbequed satay that goes extremely well with the peanut sauce and cucumbers and onions by the side. The stingray is another must get item on the list as the sting ray goes really well with the chilli paste on top of it and the lime at the side.Read More

Chicken wingsssss! (: It's been so long since i last ate BBQ chicken wings as it's always a hassle to remove the skin from the meat and the ones that we BBQ at home are more often than not, half-cooked or raw inside. The skin on this chicken was crispy and nice! It was irresistible!! Have to go exercise if i want to indulge like that. LOLSadly, the meat was a bit on the harder side and there was very little meat from one of the wings ): But still, i love the chicken wings!I think it was suppose to be self-service too? But as the stall was not that busy at the time, the auntie served the food to us. YAY! However, do note that payment was to be made at the stall itself. Read More

Chicken and mutton satay! YUMMY!!Like many others before me reviewed, this is one of the best satays around in Singapore!! Definitely worth the distance if you stay at the west side to travel alll the way to Serangoon! One has to buy a minimum number of satay sticks to order, and they are different prices for each type of meat. (there's a stall further down the row that sells cheaper ones, we didn't order as there were too much food!)Anyhow, the meat was very juicy and soft. It was very easy to bite off the stick, making it very easy to gobble them up one after another! The stall auntie was very cute when she messed up the numbers of the sticks we wanted and commented that all her satay sticks were very nice so it doesn't matter which meat we want! LOL. They also tend to write the order of sticks on the plate so it's easy for them to differentiate which ones are for which table. (Economical way as they don't have to spend money on paper!)Read More

Chomp chomp is a very famous place for dinner or gathering. I came here with my dance friends last time every time after practice for super. The stingray was beyond awesome! The chilli is spread evenly on top of the stingray. Squeezing a bit of the lemon would made the stingray taste even nicer. Because it's spicy so I always order the big glass of sugar cane! Sugar cane here is the best. Sweet yet fresh! Read More

The meat is juicy and full of flavour. The peanut gravy has a special pineapple sauce added to it, giving it a special taste. I ordered chicken and mutton satay and a rice cake. The mutton was well-marinated and grilled to perfection while the chicken, a huge chunk of meat, was tender and equally delicious. The meat chunks contained almost little or no fat, so I could savour every bit of meat. Cucumber and onion slices are the extra sides and these go equally well with the pineapple peanut gravy.Read More

Yeah one of the things that i will never missed whenever i am there, the SATAY.the satay is nicely burnt, crispy from the outer part yet the meat remain juicy with a not-too-over layer of fats which boos the fragrance and the taste of the satay. Yummy! Dip the satay with their sauce, it makes the perfect combination. Also, i will finish the onions and the cucumber served as well. Only downside is the environment, too smoky and limited places. Read More

One of my favourite hawker favourites and comfort foods had to be the deliciously roasted satay from chomp chomp food centre! I love the great smokey taste the satay has and the juicy and chunky satay flesh! The sauce is spicy and filled with peanutty goodness. I especially love the caramelised fats the satay has, that doesnt taste at all oily and sickening to eat! Wash it down with a glass of sugar cane!Read More

Yummy~licious (yummy + delicious) is the perfect word to describe the satay here. lightly charred where the top are crispy with burnt fats smell and the meat below is moist and tender. The best thing is there isn't any chunks of fats on the satay! I wonder where do the burnt fats smell comes from?! lolz... They are just as juicy even without the peanut dips. So delicious that my friend's 3 year old daughter helped herself with more than 5 sticks of satay! Read More

Unlike other places which have their beef meat really tough and not juicy, the beef meat here is really tender, not too oily and do not have that stingy beef smell in it. The satay sauce here is full of diced crunchy peanuts and the gravy is not too spicy and thick in texture. Love the glutinuous rice in banana leaf as well which the rice cubes from it is really fragrant, soft and nice. The whole set of this satay set is quite value for money and sold out really fast daily. Read More

I am a regular for their satay. Their satays are well seasoned and grilled but still have the tenderness and juiciness of the meat still there. The satays are slightly charred and fragrant. I always ordered at least a dozen to feel truly satisfied. The gravy was quite thick with a nice peanut taste and not too spicy. I am addicted to their satays and kept coming back for more. Read More

My first time here and trying out this satay, which I saw on many other tables. I got the mutton and chicken satays together with the rice cake. Both mutton and chicken satays were marinated very well and it still retains its juices, making it tender. I also like that the meats are not very fatty. Very yummy on its own. The rice also had a very nice fragrance and goes very well with the peanut gravy, which has some pineapple shreds added to it. Read More
