Introduction
Pow Sing was started by Mr Lee Chin Soo & Mr Steven Tan in the year 1983. Being traditional Hainanese they wanted to share with Singaporeans the true taste of "Hainanese Chicken Rice".

The FoodI ordered Half a chicken($12.00), some innards($2.00) and an egg ($0.50).The chicken was with bone and was huge with big cuts and was smooth soft, tender, moist and juicy with a lot of bite to it with the soy sesame oil taste. The rice was flavourful and very decent. The innards for $2.00 was quite alot. The chilli was nice in it's own way and not so spicy. The PriceReasonably priced at $16.00 for the whole billOverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!Read More

Pow Sing used to be a regular haunt, but, after the renovation, somehow, it doesnt seem the same, in terms of space and layout (I still prefer the old layout.)Perhaps there are professional reasons.Nevertheless, their menu did not change. In fact there are a few new items.Other than the Chicken rice and Chicken noodle, the Salted Fish Fried Rice and the Braised Hokkien Noodle (without pork) are our favourite dishes. The Baby Kailan with garlic is another must-have.The Salted Fish Fried Rice (as the name implies) contains generous amounts of sliced salted fish, tiny prawns, egg and vegetables. Every mouthful is full of flavour and great taste. The Braised Hokkien Noodle contains a generous amount of seafood such as sliced fish, prawn and squid. The Baby Kailan with garlic complements the other two dishes well. In fact it goes well with most of the other dishes, be it the rice or noodle dishes, even the Chicken Rice. The prices are a little steep, but the portions are slightly above average, so it is ok to come here once in a fortnight or a month. Perhaps the prices could be readjusted or the portions could be made slightly bigger .Read More
