This stall is shown on tv, very long queue, but a very great disappointment, they supposed to be famous for their roast duck, but it is very dry, with the sauce which is too sweet, maybe it is cheap $3 that why it is long queue. I personally feel not worth to queue at all, not nice.…さらに見る

When I was there last month, during lunch time, I counted around 10 people in the queue before me. Luckily, the queue moved quickly too so the waiting time was cut short. The char siew rice here is sold at $2.50 which is quite rare nowadays. The char siew meat has a 70 to 30 ratio of lean meat to fats, making each char siew slice very juicy and moist and bouncy from the fats. I say bouncy because the fats are quite firm which gives the slightly bouncy texture. The char siew here is the sweeter kind so if you like your char siew to have a sweeter taste, this will suit you. The gravy for the rice also deserves praise as it is quite savoury and it is a delight mixing the gravy together with plain white rice.…さらに見る

I went to take away lotus root soup for dinner. It is only $2.20. It is cheap but with only 3 pieces of lotus roots and a very small piece of pork rib in it. The taste of the soup was quite plain, not much taste of lotus root. The lotus root tasted a bit hard too. That piece of pork rib has got very little meat stick to a big piece of bone. New Rong Liang Ge is situated within coffeeshop located at 269B, just behind the revamped Bugis+. Its a pretty small coffeeshop and i remember there used to be a famous scissor cut rice here. But now the STAR stall is this roasted meat stall. The queue itself explains the popularity of this stall to food hunters in the region. In fact i also see quite a few couples who look like tourist coz of the maps on the table. The stall front is filled with all variety of roasted delicacies, from the usual char siew to roast pork to roast duck to roast chix to bbq wings. There is also a tower-like steamer just seen behind the preparation area, thats where they keep warm the soups. Its self service here, you collect your own cutlery and help yourself to the sambal chilli. I ordered the triple mix of cs,rp and rd for two, also had a herbal chicken soup to go along. Quantity wise you will not be disappointed and a key point is the meats do not look fatty, mostly the lean meat version. i like my rice flooded with gravy like the photo below. Taste-wise, i do prefer the roast duck and roast pork over the char siew. The roast duck especially had nice roasted skin. Though i've had better, it was overall a good eat. If i have to complain is the additional dark sauce added to the char siew makes the gravy slightly salty. The herbal soup came with one whole drumstick and very edible herbs, sign of the soup being boiled for long. Total bill was for $13.70 only, quite value for money. For my next visit i probably want to try their noodles next. And ya do come by early for dinner coz the close about eightish.…さらに見る

This place is strongly recommended by a colleague. There was quite a long queue when i was there. I ordered the roasted meat and char siew with a braised egg. I decided to get a winter melon with pork ribs soup to go along too. The char siew tasted a tad too sweet but the roasted pork was quite good. It was a bit charred to give it a nice flavour and crispiness. The braised sauce goes well with the white rice but i would prefer they do not pour over the roasted meat. This store is one that I adore alot. It's worth queuing for 15 minutes I would say. The char siew is nice and though not very slender, the taste is good. The roasted pork is crispy though inconsistent. The sauce and chilli are both very very good!You have got to try their peanut soup as well! Cheap cheap!…さらに見る

There was a constant queue in front of the stall, it prompted my instinct to check it out. Wanted to order the Duck Drumstick rice but no available Duck Drumstick at that moment so ordered the Char Siew & Roast Meat rice instead with an Egg to go along. Attempted to try the doubled boiled Lotus Roots & Pork Ribs soup too. The soup tasted bland, with little lotus root taste.But i guess i shouldn't be complaining as i only paid $2.00 for the double boiled Lotus Roots & Pork Ribs Soup and $3.00 for the Char Siew & Roast Meat rice with an Egg.
