I tried the Sakae Sushi Yusheng on the 7th day of the lunar 1st month as it was everyone’s birthday. The Yusheng comes with thick slice of salmon, red and white carrot. Sakae sushi was very popular among my friends and I a few years back as they had the buffet youth special price and it was very worth it! I came here after so long to have their buffet spread again! I will always spam the salmon sushi/sashimi as it is my ultimate favourite! Another one of my all-time favourite sushi is the octopus sushi! Everyone loves chawanmushi! So far, I have not met anyone who doesn't like them! Sakae Sushi has launched a new menu about 2 months ago so i decided to drop by for a quick lunch to have a look at what is in their menu now. They have introduced quite a number of new items but also kept quite a number of the more popular dishes from their old menu.I ordered a Aburi Sushi Combo ($7.99) and a Saba Nitsuke ($8.99) to satisfy my love for fish. for the Aburi Sushi Combo, I was served with 4 seared sushi consisting of scallop, salmon, tuna and skipjack tuna topped with salmon roe. The skipjack tuna particularly leaves a deep impression on me as it was the thickest and most fishy among the four sushi. For a fish lover like me, i like it but for people who have lighter tastebuds, it might be hard to accept. The Saba Nitsuke features a simmered mackerel in sweet sauce. Went sakae sushi with my group of friends for a lunch fix when shopping around plaza singapura.Not alot people inside the restaurant on a weekday during lunch time.Good thing is the service is naturally faster and more efficient.I have notice that the chawanmushi tasted slightly different from the previous outlet I have tried, in terms of the eggy taste.But still, it tasted flavourful with those crabmeats, shitake mushrooms and glass noodles.The crabstick fritters are not oily.The salmon sashimi is a must order for sashimi lovers, so fresh and succulent.Th scallop however does not taste so fresh and I only ate one slice of it. Fresh and Deliciously rolled makis are a great way to share food with froends or family. Always thought Sake Sushi was just an average place to eat. This outlet is very small and cosy. They have the regular wooden benches next to the belt. I do like their computer ordering system. so smart!Odered the regulars including some curry Udon and sashimi. The only thing I really like here is the soft-shell crab handroll and my favorite spicy tuna and spicy salmon sushis. I can't seem to find them anywhere else!The outlet location is good at wheelock where the crowd volume isn't as hectic. Same can't be said of the dishes though. The sushi variety pretty boring and after looking at rounds and rounds of the sushi conveyor belt, i couldnt bring myself to take any because of the less than appealing look of the sushi. ordered the Kimuchi Ramen with gyoza and with kimchi in it The ramen is not very spicy, like the kimchi soup tastes lol. the meat they served is good as it did not have too much fat in it. As for the noodle, i would say is ok, not too good if wan to compare with ramen restaurant like ajisan, but is still tastes delicious in an overall. Sakae Sushi is one of my favourite place with my favourite food! It is really healthy too (depending on what you order of cos xD) The colours of the plates are nice for photography and I like the idea of stacking the plates. It is a fun experience with your family and friends. I had fun eating and snappning photos as I like the presentation of the food as well. Not only wide ranges of su shi tastes great at Sakae Sushi outlets, I personally also love to eat their deep fried items as well, especially their deep fried potato puffs. These potato puffs are coated with a thin base of bread crumbs before proceed to deep fried. The outcome of it is really smooth and soft inside and very crispy and fragrant on the outer surface. Octopus sushiAnother thing that I like the most in Japanese cuisine is their octopus. I have no idea what sauce is that but it really tasted nice with the crunchy octopus.
