Wanted to eat Char Kway Teow but I once came across this article saying fried prawn mee have lesser calories, so I went for it. Ordered a $3 Sotong Prawn Mee, can smell the noodles cooking while queuing for it. Strong nice aromatic fried noodles is moist and velvety; fresh squid was chewy and not overcooked; miserable 2 piece of crunchy sweet prawn but can’t be unreasonable as I ordered the cheapest. I didn't mix in the chili as it was too spicy for me. Read More

The hokkien mee is not spectacular, but it is good enough to satisfy your craving and fill you up. The $3 portion I had was a good size, and plentiful in terms of noodles. The flavour was good with a nice prawn stock flavour and enough moistness such that it is not too dry. Fresh prawns have bite and remain succulent. Overall a good dish for a quick meal any day!Read More

The hokkian mee here lived up to my standards. The noodles are pretty wet and are doused in a tasty gravy. generous use of fresh prawns and sotong pieces add tons of flavour to the plain noodles. The noodles are soft but not too mushy with still some bite to them for texture. Not expensive too with a large portion given for the three dollars paid. Waiting time was awhile though of about 15 minutesRead More

Hong Heng Fried Sotong Prawn Mee is strategically located right next to the one and only escalator which lead up from the wet market below to the hawkers up on the second floor. Since I got a craving for fried sotong mee, I decided to order one plate to see how good it is (since there's a small queue of people) The sotong mee is fried in a "wet" style rather than those dried version which I quite like it. It also have a very strong and fragrant prawn taste to it. Portion is just nice for me and the ingredients are fresh. Read More

After trying food from other stalls in Tiong Bahru market, I went back to my favourite stall, which is this stall. I simply love their hokkien mee. The hokkien mee has just the right amount of moisture in them and the broth used is very good because it shows in the flavour of the noodles. The noodles is really flavourful with a good mixture of yellow noodles and beehoon. The ingredients are also very fresh, I like the sotong a lot. The only thing is the portion, I felt that it seemed to have shrunk a little since my last visit.Read More
