Plain prata ($1): Price is reasonable considering that it is in an airconditioned food court. It was a pity that the curry was not fragrant enough and somehow tasted slightly diluted. There were some burnt spots on the prata as well. The prata was soft and slightly chewy and was only slightly oily even though it was freshly made. Overall, taste was average. continue reading

After a long shopping day for furniture to cater our new home & some xmas shopping, we finally came to a stop to have a proper meal at Ah Mei Cafe. Ah Mei Cafe was located just beside Kopitiam in IMM building with limited seating space and its surrounding floor was rather dirty as beverages was spilled and was not properly cleared up.The dinner queue was not that long and beverages were served first while the pratas ordered required some time to be prepared. The beverages were thick especially its ice chocolate. Because of that, I had actually finished up the drink before my pratas came in.Pratas were ready shortly with 2 places of curry provided. The curry were thick and spicy , very good! But it was kosong (Empty), no potatoes or some bites, just curry itself.A total of 4 egg prata and 1 onion prata was ordered, the prata was make per order and were fresh and hot. The prata was rather ordinary nothing to rave about unlike its quality and standard I had in one of its outlet in Chinatown Point years ago. They were so much different.Take a closer look at the red portion of the Prata Bawang (onion), they are actually the onions used. I thought this was not the standard as onions were unusually chopped into finer pieces and wrapped/camouflaged by the prata.Total Damage for 2 for dinner: $14.00Overall I find that although the standards of prata had dropped, it's still very good as a choice for dinner if we had run out of ideas what to eat next door (kopitiam). The popular dishes are their bryani and was so called worth a try, I will want to try them out during my next visit. continue reading

[IMG:I simply love this Chicken Nasi Briyani because it uses a lot of different spices to cook the rice and the rice is very fluffy and fragrant. The chicken is also very tender and it has absorbs all the flavours of the curry. The curry is also not too spicy and it just has a nice aroma of the curry. The achar at the side also gives a refreshing taste to the overall dish. This is definitely a must-try dish for those briyani-lovers. continue reading

If you are like me who is quite fond of pratas and the traditional indian teh tarik, you may want to consider to have it at this cafe here at Jurong East IMM. The pratas are only made upon order so you will be assured the freshest piece of prata will be presented to you. The Indian chef took pride in producing it which you can see that every pieces of pratas served to you is cooked till really nice thin slices and are also not too oily. The curry gravy is also equally delicious which is quite thick in texture and goes well with the pratas. The teh tarik here is full of the nice fragrant from the generous amount of milk added in it. It tastes so good that you will be just like me wanting to have a second cups during every visits here. continue reading

I came here for lunch with my mum. I like roti prata, and knowing that I could find it here, I decided to get it. Since there was a minimum ordered of 2 for the plain prata, my mum ordered 2 plain and 2 egg. 1 plain and 1 egg for me, 1 plain and 1 egg for her. It wasn't long that I waited to get my prata. I was soon consuming it all. It was tasty. The prata was a little crispy, and not too soft. Lovely. I think that the prata there is quite good and I enjoyed my lunch there. I would definitely eat there next time, knowing that the prata there is nice. continue reading
