Huge and very very fresh prawns accompanying the laksa. Flavor wised is not as fantastic as Katong Laksa but it has got good quality as well! The soup based is not very spicy so for people who can't take spiciness, this is a good try on Singapore Laksa! However, it is very over-priced as this is a tourist attraction.

Open concept filled with wide-eyed wonder, Ah Meng Restaurant was named exactly same with the well-known late Orang Utan. Displaying some photos on the wall, it briefly explained how Orang Utan lives in Zoo. There was air-conditioned area and also alfresco seats. Drumstick was huge, stretchable tender flesh. Sambal was appealing spicy, much complemented the Pandan greenly rice. Side snack included roasted peanuts, crunchy salted ikan bilis and refreshing cucumber. Besides of local delight, they were also selling some western cuisines. Memorable visit but it was quite noisy and crowded.

the baked chicken was cold and tasteless, the rice is not fragant at all and the sambal is not nice either. There is nothing to recommend about. As a Singaporean, i am really ashamed to introduce theses local delights to tourist.

Laksa look so good and taste good too the power coconut milk was so thick and the spicy level was just nice. Prawn were fresh! CCF was quite decent better than i expect cos sometimes it will be like rubber band texture! Butter sugar toast was good too crispy after the toast! Lemon Tea standard i feel drop abit but still as good big mug at only ($3.50) and Goh had Yuan Yang ($3.50) and commented it was not so nice as compare to others outside not much of a taste!

this promises a bamboo steamer of variety.not quality.the crystal prawn dumplings have a skin that sticks to the steamer and breaks too easily. although it's thick.the shao mai was forgettable.as was the other thing that tasted like soon kueh with turnip filling.then you think the saving grace would be the bao!but we were sorely disappointed. the skin was too thick and the filling too little.oh dear. oh oh dear.

After a long tiring day walking around, we were really hungry....Basically most of the foods were sold out. So we only bought the MUSHROOM SOUP and CHENDOL! a bit pathetic what to do. The Mushroom soup was really good. First round we bough it was gone within few mins... The mushroom tastes was so heavy and you could also taste a bit of garlic. The chendol we bought it's nice. the ice wasn't really a ice. but it was snow ice. They pour the Gula melaka a bit little.but overall the food was good.

Had this simple breakfast meal at Ah meng restaurant , for people who love to eat half-bolied egg will surely love this . It looks appealing and they have cracked open the eggs and you do not even have to dirty your finger ! Together with the milo-peng and toast , the perfect combination to start a good day.

In order to commemorate the late Ah Meng, the Singapore Zoo has converted an area inside the vicinity and named after the icon. Boasting a spacious setup that offer local and international cuisine, locals and tourists at the Zoo would never leave the place hungry just as Ah Meng would be well taken care of her diet!

Was onsite at the Zoo to spend my weekend and birthday with my beloved gF, we made our way to the food court concept restaurant. Although it is a food court concept, the standard and food quality was actually comparable to any of the cafes and snack houses can offer. The pasta that we had was well cooked and the meatball are absolutely great!

Highly recommended if you are visiting Ah Meng Restaurant, do not forget to check out on the memory lane of Ah Meng, not forgetting the picture taken with the late Steve Irwin - The Crocodile Hunter! An icon of their league!

Ah Meng is highly remembered by its supporters & zoo lovers. There’s even a restaurant named after him!! Right at the entrance, there is a display of all the pics Ah Meng has taken at important facades in his life. Me and Bf were waiting for the 'Splash' show which happened at 5pm, hence we decided to try out the meatball spaghetti. It tasted great especially after our walk around the whole zoo. We were quite hungry and snatched to finish the whole plate! The meatballs were chunky and not overly cooked. We didnt expect to find such a good plate of spaghetti in the Zoo!
