This Oreo Cheesecake - $5.20 had a very rich and kinda creamy consistency. The oreo crust went well with the creamy cheesecake. The portion wise was just right and would be great for sharing in case you feel "jelat" or "sick" if you're gonna eat a whole slice on your own. I am okay with it though. I think at $5.20, it is pretty reasonable as compared to places like Starbucks etc I still prefer their ice-cream than cakes. continue reading

One of my favourite snacks to eat in Singapore has got to be the sweet and icy ice cream! Perfect for hot sweltering afternoons in June, there’s always time for this lovely snack. I shared a triple scoop with 2 friends for an after lunch snack, and we got mint chocolate chip, strawberry and macadamia nut on a chocolate waffle biscuit ($12~)! I love their waffles because it smells so fragrant and delicious and goes really well with the ice cream! While the quality of the ice cream is nothing to write home about, the macadamia nut flavor was my favourite. That said, there are better ice creams out there so I’m only ambivalent about Andersens. After all, the ice cream scene in Singapore is always changing so quickly with fun and fresh flavors coming out all the time. Andersen’s has got to rethink its brand strategy to be able to keep up with the crowd in the long run. continue reading

I went to Andersen with a $40 worth of Groupon vouchers to be redeemed, and I should have known better than to go on the last day. I found the waiter rather rude when he knew that we are using the voucher. He might be tired from the crowd, but that is not the way to treat customers. It spoilt our day to be served so badly and even if the food tasted decent, there is no way that I would return to the outlet ever again. The service might be better on normal days, but not for Groupon users to go. Let me go on to the food reviews. We had the waffle bowl with 5 different scopes, brownie, and a personal fondue. Everything tasted pretty average, and I think only the mango ice cream deserve a special mention. I was expecting sorbet for fruity flavors, but the mango is cream based ice cream and surprisingly refreshing. continue reading

Anderson ice cream for the first time! The ice cream is rather expensive costing five dollars and fifty cents for a mere single scoop, however I must admit the ice cream quality is really fantastic. The ice cream is one of te smoothest I have ever had and it is so silky and creamy. I had the Belgium Chocolate Chip flavour which was really filled with chunks of chocolate. Each bite was just delicious! A must try! continue reading
