B.K Fortune Seafood is located along Bukit Timah Road just opposite the entrance of the road into Turf City. They are housed under the big coffee shop chain by Kim San Leng for open air dining and have a separate old school aircon dining environment right beside the coffee shop, selling similar Tze Char Items.

Upon serving the bowl of soup to our table, we almost rejected the bowl of soup and told the server that we did not order any seafood soup as no seaweed could be found until we stirred them up from the bottom. In fact, there is more seafood but only a spoonful of seaweed. Soup was rather decent with slice fish, tomato, carrot, prawns, egg and little corn.

Seaweed Soup - $5

The guy being a Hokkien has never failed to order this Hokkien Noodles whenever it comes to Cze Char Meal. The standard dishes of this is of an average fare and nothing out of ordinary. Ingredients include slice fishes, prawns and vegetables as the ingredients.

Hokkien Noodle - $7

With slice fishes present in the seaweed soup and hokkien noodles, this dish may seemed to be overwhelming for the dinner. Fortunately, both of us love this dish with its sweet sauce. Fish was fresh and yummy. If you are having white rice, it will be ideal.

Spring Onion Slice Fish - $12

The plate of fried chicken was below par in my opinion as the chicken marinate did not make the taste any better, in fact the prawn paste chicken was having some bitter taste even though it may seemed to be yummy in its golden brown color perfection. Yay or nay? I will say nay.

Prawn Paste Chicken - $8

With so many light flies approaching our food, it was kind of disturbance during dining. I hope it was just a one time off event. Anyway food had their hits and misses, we don't see ourselves coming back any soon in the near future.

wife wanted to have dinner at bk forture seafood at old holland road this evening on 14.11.2015.^^
i was worried that the place would be crowded on a saturday evening & hard to park. this place is quite popular with foreigners,
the last time we came with our daughter & basically ordered the same food.
we waited quite a while for the food as there were a few tables of foreigners having their weekend family food outing.
this evening though the corner coffeeshop smok’inn frogz kitchen & bar bar black sheep were quite empty. i found parking along the road. we ordered the thai style fish head & a small hor fun & waited only 5mins for food to be served.
the hor fun this evening was very good!
very good wok hae (aroma). the hor fun itself had very good flavours. there were not much ingredients & the prawns were not the freshest but was good overall. there were couple times i ta pao (take out) home but the hor fun was not great. tonight it was good.
the thai style curry fish head here is the best!
fish head was very fresh. the curry was slight tangy & very tasty.
it’s certainly much better than the similar priced nonya fish head at keng eng kee.
this is a curry fish head i really enjoy. for this evening it was easy & quick & shiok!

had simple zi char dinner with wife & daughter last evening at forture restaurant at old holland road on 25.10.2014. :-)
went there about 6.50pm. luckily i found a parking lot in front of restaurant. the place was 90% filled with many tables of western expat families.
it was very popular eating place. for me that’s a good thing really, that expats, western & others, were enjoying nice local zi char food. there would always be concern if some dishes would be adulterated, but it didn’t really affect the dishes we ordered much (maybe the cuttlefish kang kong sauce & the satay sauce).
we ordered our favourite, the thai curry fish head. used to be S$15 (guess that was eons ago..haha), now S$25. i ate this here more recently on 2.4.2014.
we were lucky we were served like in 5 mins. not always the case & place was quite packed.
the thai curry fish head was really good. it was tangy, sweet, very tasty, lot of vegetables. it was a large 1/2 angkoli (red snapper) fish head. the nonya song fish head at keng eng kee, also S$25, i had on 9.6.2014 came close. the sauce was thicker, same tangy sweet flavours but a red snapper head was always going to be better than song fish head for curries.
we like the hor fun here & occasionally “tapao” (did a take-out). usually wok hae (pan flavours) very good. this time it was ok average.
we ordered the “jill her eng chai”- cuttlefish with kang kong (S$10). the kang kong was very good. the cuttlefish was good, came with an unusual sweet sauce (looked & tasted just like yong tau fu very red colour sweet sauce). it was not the usual sambal. i didn’t mind it actually but i guessed the usual sambal should be better.
the satay were very good, very tasty & not dry or tough. the sauce was watery & a bit sweeter than most satay sauce (to cater for expat diners maybe?) but still nice. I thought this was a very good satay if only they served a usual better sauce.
the dinner for 3pax was S$45 exclude drinks. it was not cheap but not expensive also, just the going price i guess.

had not been to this old holland road coffeeshop 金山岭 for years.
used to love the thai style curry fish head at forture restaurant (still do!), and also the chilli crab many years back, basically because they were good & cheap then. for a while ah yat @ turf city was having 50% weekday discounts (now 40%) and the crab at ah yat at the time (up to 3 – 4 years back) were like S$19.90/kg after discount for indonesian crabs, which was cheaper than the S$26/kg at forture, and ah yat served very cheap seafood like bamboo clams (still does), so only dish that stood out at forture was the thai style fish head curry.
decided to go with a friend to take the fish head on 3.4.2014 after the long lay off. fish head still very fresh & curry was great. the hor fun though was not good. disappointing really, usually quite good when i “da pao” (take out).
my friend paid for dinner which came to just below S$30. the hot fun was S$3.50, so the fish head must be like S$25 (far cry from the time when it was S$15 & i came often), plus we had 1 rice to share & also the towels. my friend asked for water & the charge was S$0.40.
i guess price was ok. the 1/2 fish head was a large one. it was fresh & the curry was tasty, but taking it after so many years, it was unique but really no better than assam fish head & indian curry fish head – both have more kick than this one. also considering that the spicy bean sauce song fish head at honk kong street cost S$18 (though this one here had vegetables with the curry), S$25 was not cheap.
it was satisfying nonetheless, but the allure was gone. i can have this sometimes & enjoy it, but i can do without too.

Had a dinner gathering with a few of my friends last weekend after seeing a review recently. The food is quite good, but maybe slighly below my expectation after seeing the review on the internet. The hei zuo is ok, so-so, maybe i have eaten hei zuo that is better than this, so my expectation for hei zuo will be much higher. As for salted egg crab, its yummy, and the stir fried vegetables (kai lan) is pretty normal, not too bad actually. Overall, it is quite a good eating experience over there.
