Signature Dishes
Chicken basil leaf with rice $6.90 - There was quite a queue today for dinner for this stall so I decided to try it out as I was craving for some thai food too. The basil leaf taste was very strong. There was a slight cooling effect and I did not fancy the basil taste used here. The sauce was flavourful but rather salty for me and the minced meat was drenched in the sauce. It was good to complement with the white rice though. There were quite a number of people who ordered the tom yum seafood soup set. Perhaps i'll try that the next time.

For the past few months, i have been frequenting Orchard more then ever and Wisma Atria is one of the favourite place for me to have lunch.Whenever lunching at Wisma Atria, i may head upstairs to Food Republic which offers a wide range of different cuisines for one to choose from.I often chose to eat Thai food, where i would usually get the basil chicken rice. When you place your order, it would be made on the spot and you can witness the cooking process. As a result the food will also be served piping hot.There is plenty of meat and the sauce (its a tad salty) serves as a good complement with the rice. The food is quite pricey ($6.90/plate) but i guess its never cheap when you are dining at Orchard.

My group of friends and I decided to have a quick lunch before heading to our activities. This Thai store had quite a queue, which led to one of my friends & I to check out their menu. I had the Chicken w Cashew nuts while my friend tried the Phad Thai. Both were so disappointing! There were only so few pieces of chicken and even lesser cashew nuts, it was like the whole plate is only filled with rice and dried chilli. The Phad Thai was so dry and my friend was struggling to finish it!

At only 12.30 pm, the que was long enough to make one wonder if you should bother to wait when you're hungry. But this stall was recommended by my colleague, so I guess I had to try no?Had to wait for a few minutes to make an order, the workers are mostly Thais. Interesting, so will my Pad Thai be really aunthentic thai then? Well apparently not........The portion is definitely generous. It better be since I paid about $6.50 for it. But it wasn't as spicy as I was hoping it to be. Not much flavour into it as well. Its kinda bland
