My first visit here after hearing many raves. To me the place is not appealing at all. Hope the food has no extra ingredients! I had pork cutlet, fish cake and tao gey along with rice, drenched with braised dark soya sauce and curry. Unique combination and it actually tasted FABULOUS! The sauce is gooey, thick and fragrant. Pork cutlet is fresh and crispy. The rest are just fine. Am craving for it again!!! Note that peak hours have extremely long queue!

The stall here offers hainanese-favorite pork chop as well as other meat and vegetables dishes at reasonable price. For $3.00, you can have 2 meats, 1 vegetable and a generous portion of white rice served with fragrant curry sauce.Their hainanese chicken is simply delicious. Coated with special made bread crumbs and fried to the perfect texture with no oily feeling. They also have the hainanese pork chop cooked in tomato sauce together with onions and fresh tomato wedges. Both budget and yummy.

Was there in the afternoon for my lunch session and again was no surprise on the crowd gathering in front of the stall while the staff are all busy cutting on the ingredients that were ordered by the customers.

Beach Road Scissor Cut Curry Rice has been around the area for the last 15 years at least and has expanded on its operations by having 2 units along the stretch of the ever busy cross junction.

What brings the crowd back as always is the no frills service and the consistent good taste of what has been hovering on their taste bud ever since their last visit. The starchy curry gravy that holds the ultimate key, the fried eggs that lights up all and the kong bar that melt within our hearts!

For all who are in the area...this is the place for your hush hush lunch at the most reasonable pricing! A memory to be kept with for long...

Cut cut cut!

Talking about Scissors cut curry rice, the first stall that strikes on my mind is the Beach Road Scissors Curry Rice. There is no lack of crowd even at wee hours or 1 or 2am !The price of the curry rice here is very economical and they are not stingy with their signature curry gravy. The curry taste a little mild to me thou, so usually I would request for some chili to spice it up.The usual stuff I had would be:Fried pork cutlet: Well marinated and thick! One of the better hainanese pork cutlet

There is no lack of crowd even at wee hours or 1 or 2am !

The price of the curry rice here is very economical and they are not stingy with their signature curry gravy.

The curry taste a little mild to me thou, so usually I would request for some chili to spice it up.

The usual stuff I had would be:

Fried pork cutlet: Well marinated and thick! One of the better hainanese pork cutlet I had before.

Lor Bah: The soft tender fats with a good proportion of lean meat in the Lor Bak were mouth watering. It simply melts in your mouth!

Bean spout:
Quite average, but I just like beanspout.

Cabbage:
In hainanese styled which taste a little more sweet than usual.Good balance with their curry!

Overall a homely and satisfied (Sinful) night supper for me .
